  4. Users of TechScheduler 95/NT must accept this disclaimer of warranty:

  6. "TechScheduler 95/NT is supplied as is. The author disclaims all warranties,
  7. expressed or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of
  8. merchantability and of fitness for any purpose. The author assumes no
  9. liability for damages, direct or consequential, which may result from
  10. the use of TechScheduler 95/NT."

  12. TechScheduler 95/NT is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge to
  13. the user for evaluation. Feel free to share it with your friends, but
  14. please do not give it away altered or as part of another system. The
  15. essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer
  16. users with quality software without high prices, and yet to provide
  17. incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products. If you
  18. find this program useful and find that you are using TechScheduler 95/NT and
  19. continue to use TechScheduler 95/NT after a reasonable trial period, you must
  20. register it!  The registration fee will license one copy for use
  21. on any one computer at any one time.

  23. Commercial users of TechScheduler 95/NT must register and pay for their copies
  24. of TechScheduler 95/NT within 30 days of first use or their license is
  25. withdrawn. Site-License arrangements may be made by contacting Dean
  26. Software Design.

  28. Anyone distributing TechScheduler 95/NT for any kind of remuneration must
  29. first contact Dean Software Design at the indicated address for
  30. authorization. This authorization will be automatically granted to
  31. distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for
  32. shareware distributors, and such distributors may begin offering TechScheduler
  33. 95/NT immediately (However Dean Software Design must still be advised so that
  34. the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest version of
  35. TechScheduler 95/NT).

  37. Definition Of Shareware

  40. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
  41. buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you
  42. are expected to register. Individual programs differ on details --
  43. some request registration while others require it, some specify a
  44. maximum trial period. With registration, you get anything from the
  45. simple right to continue using the software to an updated program with
  46. printed manual.

  48. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and
  49. the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  50. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  51. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are of
  52. comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs and bad
  53. ones!) The main difference is in the method of distribution. The
  54. author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute the
  55. software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group. For
  56. example, some authors require written permission before a commercial
  57. disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  59. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should
  60. find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's
  61. commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs
  62. easier, because you can try before you buy. And because the overhead
  63. is low, prices are low also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back
  64. guarantee - if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.
