  1. SmartFile Windows File Manager
  2.  
  3. Purpose:
  4. SmartFile is a full featured 32 bit Windows file manager.  In addition to
  5. offering a simple and efficient interface, SmartFile allows you to perform
  6. tasks not supported by most file managers.  In addition to providing a more
  7. efficient means to do the "usual" things that most file managers can do
  8. (like copy, move, rename, etc.), SmartFile offers many features that allow
  9. you to actually begin managing your files instead of just manually moving
  10. them around.  What makes SmartFile different than other file managers?
  11. Features like:
  12.   
  13.      One step floppy copy. 
  14.  
  15.      Full control over file deletion method from recycle bin to wipe and
  16.      delete!
  17.  
  18.      Update of folders by copying newer files. 
  19.  
  20.      Selection and copying of files that contain text strings. 
  21.  
  22.      Global or folder based "whereis" function allows you to search entire
  23.      drives for:
  24.           Files that match a certain specification (*.ini. *.dll, etc) 
  25.           Files that have dates within any specified date range. 
  26.           Files that are are a specified size (lower and upper limit) 
  27.  
  28.      Open files via the Windows associated viewer by double clicking.
  29.      If no viewer is associated with the file type, the SmartFile
  30.      text/binary file viewer will load it for viewing anyway!

  32.      Print directory information for selected files in any folder. 
  33.  
  34.      Open and print file contents for selected files in any folder. 
  35.  
  36.      Fully customizeable interface with splitters, screen font, printer
  37.      font, etc.  All setting are saved, including the last two folders that
  38.      you visited.  SmartFile remembers EVERYTHING, even the selected width
  39.      of scrolling columns for filename, extension, size, date and
  40.      attributes!

  42.      And... much more!

  44. Installation:
  45. Simply unzip the file and run the Setup.exe program.
  46.  
  47. Status:
  48. SmartFile is shareware.  The demo version is unlimited in functionality but
  49. is limited to a two week trial period.  SmartFile will cease to function
  50. after 14 days unless an unlock code is purchased.

  52. Distribution:
  53. SmartFile may be distributed freely.  Since SmartFile is fully functional
  54. and requires an unlock code to register, no unlock codes may be distributed
  55. with SmartFile or made available to the public.
