  1.               Thank you for using Scratch Pad Version 2.2

  3. You must be running Windows 95/NT to use this program.
  4.  
  5. To install Scratch Pad: Create a temporary directory.  Move scratch5.zip
  6. into this temporary directory and then unzip it. Run the Setup.exe 
  7. program. Delete the temporary directory.  That's all there is to it!
  8.  
  9. In addition to the Start | Programs | Scratch Pad icon created by the setup
  10. program, the setup program will ask about four additional options for accessing
  11. Scratch Pad. 
  12.   1) The first option is to access Scratch Pad from the Send To menu.  
  13.   Checking this option will add Scratch Pad to the menu that appears under Send To
  14.   when you right-click on a file name. 
  15.   2) Check the second option to place a shortcut to Scratch Pad on the desktop.
  16.   3) The third option is to access Scratch Pad from the start menu.  Checking this 
  17.   option will create an icon for Scratch Pad on the menu that is first displayed 
  18.   when you press the Start button, above the Programs > item.  This is in addition
  19.   to the Scratch Pad icon always created in the Programs menu.
  20.   4) The fourth option is to make Scratch Pad the default viewer for .txt files. If
  21.   you check this option, the Setup program will associate that file extension with 
  22.   the Scratch Pad program.  This means that whenever you double click on a program 
  23.   with a .txt extension, that file will be opened in Scratch Pad for you to view or 
  24.   modify.

  27. extent reasonably required to determine whether to register the software.

  32. Scratch Pad is a shareware program. It is NOT FREE! If you use it, 
  33. please register it. Registration will also register you for all future
  34. versions of Scratch Pad.

  38. To register Scratch Pad you MUST INCLUDE the unique Id number for your 
  39. copy of the program. This number may be found in the About Scratch Pad 
  40. box from the Help menu. After you have been using this program for 30 
  41. days, you will be reminded to register it if you have not already done 
  42. so. This reminder screen also shows the unique Id number you must send 
  43. to receive your password. Of course, you must also send the registration 
  44. fee of $15 for version 2.2 of Scratch Pad!
