- Introduction
- ------------
- Minimail is a small, convenient and easy to use tool for the creation and
- sending of plain text e-mails. Minimail features file attachments, multiple
- accounts, signatures, logging, SMTP authentication, undo and redo, view settings
- and more. Its primary purpose is to provide a quick and easy way to send e-mails
- without the need to open your bulky, full-featured e-mail client. Minimail is
- fully resizable and can be minimized to the task bar or the system tray. It can
- also be set to the default mail client to load automatically when a "mailto:"
- link is clicked in your web browser.
-
- Instructions
- ------------
- First set up your sender details in the Accounts dialog the first time you run
- Minimail, making sure you have typed in your SMTP server correctly (your ISP
- should let you know your SMTP server address - something like mail.ispname.com).
- You must also provide your name and e-mail address so the recipient knows who
- the e-mail is coming from. Then, type your recipient's e-mail address into the
- main dialog, give the e-mail a subject and body, click send and your e-mail
- should be sent! Minimail will then clear its main dialog ready for you to send
- your next e-mail.
-
- Minimail has many tooltips - little descriptions that pop up if you hover the
- mouse pointer over an object for a few seconds. To learn more about a button,
- text box or check box simply point to it and wait for its description to appear.
-
- Minimail is designed to be keyboard-friendly. The buttons on the main dialog all
- have a keyboard shortcut associated with them. To active the button at any time
- just hold down the 'Alt' key and press the character that is underlined on the
- button. For instance, to send an e-mail you can press 'Alt' and 's' at the same
- time.
-
- The future of Minimail
- ----------------------
- We are never finished with our software development - there is always something
- to fix, improve or a new feature to add. Keep checking the website for news on
- future releases. If there is something you would like to see added/changed/fixed
- in Minimail then let us know. Our software development is heavily driven by
- user feedback so don't be shy!
-
- Do I have to pay for Minimail?
- ------------------------------
- No, Minimail is freeware. All we get in return for your using it is two lines of
- text appended to the e-mails you send. They say "Sent with Pawsoft Minimail - a
- FREE download from http://www.pawsoft.com". You may use Minimail free of
- charge for all purposes and for an unlimited time. If you like the software and
- want to say thanks please consider a donation to the developers. Please visit
- the website for more information, or click on 'Donate' from the Minimail Help
- main menu. Users who donate at least $5 will be offered a version of Minimail
- where the advertising text can be switched off.
