  27. have Administrator rights to properly install and play the Warpath Demo.

  75. instructions to unpack and install the WarPath Demo. Once installed
  76. run the game with the "Warpath demo" shortcut on your desktop.

  142.  V. Troubleshooting
  143. ================================================================
  144.  
  145. -Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements
  146. listed. Installing the WarpathÖ Demo on a computer that does 
  147. not meet the minimum system requirements can lead to unpredictable 
  148. results.
  149.  
  150. -Before installing the game, make sure all running programs,
  151. especially anti-virus software, are closed. Many installation
  152. problems are avoided this way.
  153.  
  154. -If you are running Windows XP or Windows 2000, you must install the
  155. WarpathÖ Demo via a user account with administrator or power user privileges. 
  156. If you do not have administrator or power user privileges, please contact your
  157. system administrator for further details.
  158.  
  159. -If you are running a firewall or a router, you may experience
  160. difficulties attempting to play the WarpathÖ Demo on a LAN or the Internet. 
  161. You must configure your firewall/router to allow the WarpathÖ demo to access 
  162. ports 7897 through 7898 for game sessions and port 29808 for the 
  163. master matchmaking server. Ensure that TCP and UDP are enabled for 
  164. all of these ports. If you do not know how to do this, contact your 
  165. system administrator or firewall/router vendor for further information.
  166.  
  167. -If your machine is running Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1)
  168. installed and Internet Connection Firewall enabled, you may
  169. experience difficulties attempting to play the WarpathÖ demo on a LAN 
  170. or the Internet. To correct this, you should either install 
  171. Service Pack 2 (SP2) or disable the Internet Connection Firewall
  172. from your network settings. Follow these steps to disable the 
  173. Internet Connection Firewall:
  174.  
  175. 1. Click the Start Menu.
  176. 2. Select Control Panel or if you are running windows in classic mode 
  177. select Settings 
  178. 3. Select Internet and Network connections and then Network Connections. 
  179. Or if you are running windows in classic mode select network connections.
  180. 4. Right click on your Local Area Connection icon and select
  181. Properties.
  182. 5. Click on the ôAdvancedö tab.
  183. 6. Make sure there is no checkmark in the box next to ôProtect
  184. my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this
  185. computer from the Internetö.
  186.  
  187. -If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), you may
  188. experience issues attempting to play WarpathÖ over the Internet due to the 
  189. SP2 firewall. To correct this, follow these steps:
  190.  
  191. 1. Launch WarpathÖ.
  192. 2. From the main menu, click Join Multiplayer Game.
  193. 3. When the server browser comes up, press ALT and TAB at the
  194. same time. This will return you to your Windows desktop.
  195. 4. A window entitled ôWindows Security Alertö should be present.
  196. Click Unblock to allow WarpathÖ to access Internet game servers.
  197. 5. Click WarpathÖ in the
  198. Windows taskbar. This will return you to the game.
  199. 6. Quit WarpathÖ by
  200. selecting Exit Game from the main menu.
  201. 7. Re-launch WarpathÖ - you
  202. should now be able to connect to Internet games.
  203.  
  204. -Some video cards, often included with laptops, have a rotation
  205. feature that can cause the game to display sideways. Going into
  206. your display properties and disabling the rotation feature
  207. should solve this issue. Contact your video card manufacturer
  208. for further support regarding the rotation feature.
  209.  
  210. -You may need to obtain the latest DirectX 9.0 compliant drivers 
  211. from your hardware manufacturerÆs website. Many technical 
  212. problems can be resolved by simply updating your video and 
  213. sound card drivers.
  214.  
  215. -Depending on your system configuration, game play performance
  216. may be altered by changing graphical options in the Settings,
  217. Video Settings menu. Lowering the Resolution and Video Mode will
  218. allow the game to run faster, while increasing them may cause
  219. the game to run slower but look better. If game play performance
  220. is still poor, you can also turn down the Detail Level and
  221. Shadows on this screen. Remember to click Apply Video Changes
  222. after making changes to these options. Adjusting one (or all)
  223. of these graphical options can dramatically increase game play
  224. speed.

  226. -For optimal game play performance we recommend closing all
  227. other programs or applications before playing WarpathÖ.

  291.  IX. TIPS AND TRICKS
  292. ================================================================

  294. - Don't forget to apply CAM pickups to your weapons including your EMAD. You 
  295. can do this by holding down the X key and clicking on the weapons 
  296. you want to upgrade - that's if you have enough CAMS.
  297.  
  298. - In multiplayer, you get CAMS by killing other players or bots.
  299.  
  300. - Don't forget to dash, by pressing the F key, in the game; this 
  301. allows you to travel faster for short bursts.

  303. - Don't forget about the Vibro blade it is a deadly weapon.
