Anti-aliasing is a technique used to smooth out the jagged edges of three- dimensional curved objects or objects with diagonal edges.

Anti-aliasing can be set to favor either an increase in system processing performance or improved image quality:

<div class="pSmartList1"><li>Setting for performance is best used when the 3D image is animated and smoothness of motion is the most important consideration.</li></div>
<div class="pSmartList1"><li>Setting for quality is best used when having highly detailed and realistic 3D objects is the primary concern.</li></div>
<div class="pSmartList1"><li>If you are unsure of how to configure anti-aliasing, use the <b class="cBold">Let the Application Decide</b> option. Your display will automatically adjust to the application's requirements.</li></div>
<div class="pSmartList1"><li>Ensure the application override is disabled. To do so, make sure the <b class="cBold">Let the Application Decide</b> check box is cleared. The slider control will become available.</li></div>
<div class="pSmartList1"><li>Click the <b class="cBold">Control</b> slider and move the selector to your preferred setting:</li></div>

Optionally, double-click <span style="font-weight: bold">3D Preview</span> for a full-screen view of the adjustments you have made. To exit full-screen Preview, press the <span style="font-weight: bold">Esc</span> key.

The Preview can be disabled by clicking the "X" button in the Preview pane. It can also be paused by clicking the "||" button in the Preview pane. Clicking the pause button again causes the preview to resume.

<div class="pSmartList1"><li>Click <span style="font-weight: bold">Discard</span> to ignore any unsaved changes and restore the settings that existed when the Catalyst™ Control Center was opened or the last time <span style="font-weight: bold">Apply</span> was used. Discard does not close the Catalyst™ Control Center.</li></div>

Clicking<b class="cBold"> </b>Discard<b class="cBold"> </b>applies to all features of an aspect, not just the feature in the current view.
Note: Clicking <b class="cBold">Defaults</b> will restore the defaults for the current view only. Previous settings are not altered and will be saved once you click <b class="cBold">OK</b>.
