  10. Welcome and thanks for purchasing the only CD-ROM game that doesn't 
  11. suck, MTV's Beavis and Butt-head in Little Thingies. This is gonna be cool.
  12. You have purchased seven games, four classics from MTV's Beavis and Butt-head
  13. in Virtual Stupidity, and three all new orginal games.  Enjoy.

  15. The Goods (System Requirements)
  16. Although we recommend a system that is a bit more souped up, the 
  17. following list reflects the PC system requirements to run this CD-ROM 
  18. properly.

  20.     *  486 DX33 Minimum; Pentium Processor Recommended

  23.     *  8 Megabytes Memory Minimum; 16 Megabytes Recommended

  28. First Things First (Getting Started)
  29. In order to run Little Thingies, first start Windows '95. Place the 
  30. "Little Thingies" cd in your cd player, wait a few seconds, the install 
  31. will begin automatically. After indicating your acceptance of the 
  32. license agreement, then follwow the on screen prompts.   Then, click on 
  33. the "Start" icon, usally in the upper or lower left-hand corner of the 
  34. screen.  Move the mouse over "Programs", then "Little Thingies", then click 
  35. on the game you wish to play.., you will be offered the main Game Menu, 
  36. from which you can begin game play by clicking on the "New Game" button.
  37. Soon afterward, you can find yourself (Beavis & Butt-head) at  Burger 
  38. World, or Highland High or many other locations in Highland.  Help on 
  39. game controls and rules is available anytime during the game by either 
  40. hitting the "F1" key, or choosing "Help" from the menu bar.

  42. Pick That Up, Dillhole (Game Controls)
  43. Beavis and Butt-head aren't the smartest kids around, but with your 
  44. help, they could become the coolest. To control your player you can 
  45. either use the mouse alone, or the mouse and the keyboard together.  
  46. Here's how.

  50. Use the mouse to move the cursor anywhere on the screen.  Depending on 
  51. the game, you will hold the left mouse button down, then release, 
  52. Hock-a-loogie, or point and click.

  54. KEYBOARD
  55.  
  56. The keyboard allows you to use short-cuts to change your selected icon, 
  57. or get to the Inventory.  These short-cuts are also listed with the 
  58. descriptions of what each action icon does, but here's the short list, 
  59. so relax dude.

  61. SPACE BAR    Exit opening legal screens
  62. HELP        Keyboard shortcut is "F1"
  63. NEW GAME    Keyboard shortcut is "N" except in Air Guitar.
  64. <ALT>        will take you out of full screen mode back into windowed mode.

  66. Trouble Shooting/Product Support
  67.  
  68. Q:      If a mini-game runs too slow.  Make it go faster.
  69.  
  70. A:    There are several methods of making your game run faster.
  71.  
  72.     1. Change the window size of Little Thingies.  This is probably 
  73.            the easiest and most effective way of making the both the 
  74.            game and the videos run smoother (other than buying a new 
  75.            computer).  Go to "Window" on the menu bar of the game and 
  76.            click on any of the sizes that are smaller than the one you 
  77.            are currently in.

  79.     2. You can also try Full Screen mode.  This takes up your 
  80.            entire screen but the game will run faster on most computers.
  81.            Since there is no menu bar, you'll have to use keyboard 
  82.            short-cuts or hit  <ALT> to exit out of full screen mode.

  84.     3. Change your color resolution.  By changing how many colors 
  85.            your desktop uses you can speed up video performance.  The 
  86.            more colors your desktop is working in, the slower 
  87.            everything will be.  Little Thingies needs at least 256 
  88.            colors, but will not use any more than 256.  So, as you can 
  89.            guess, 256 color mode is the best mode to run Little 
  90.            Thingies in.

  92. Q:    The graphics of the game looked warped or stretched out, is 
  93.         this normal?
  94.  
  95. A:    If you change the size of the window to anything other than 1x,
  96.         2x, 3x, or full-screen you are probably warping the game window (things 
  97.         will be taller, flatter, etc.).  Also, when the game starts it 
  98.         automatically expands to x2.  If your desktop resolution is set 
  99.         at 640x480 the game will expand to try to fill your window.  
  100.         This will also cause a small amount of warping.  To get an 
  101.         absolutely picture-perfect view of this lovely game, try these 
  102.         sizes when playing:

  104.         640x480 Desktop        use x1 or full screen
  105.     800x600 Desktop        use x1, x2 or full screen
  106.     1024x768 Desktop     use x1, x2, x3 or full screen

  108. Q:    There's no sound.  Is there an incompatibility with my sound 
  109.         card?
  110.  
  111. A:    Since Little Thingies is a Windows 95 game, as long as your 
  112.         sound card is working correctly with Windows 95 it should work 
  113.         correctly with Little Thingies.  Try running the Media Player 
  114.         that comes with Windows 95 to test your sound.
  115.  
  116. Q:    There's no INSTALL or SETUP program.  How do I get Beavis & 
  117.         Butt-Head running?
  118.  
  119. A:    Little Thingies is an auto-play CD product.  This means that 
  120.         all you have to do is put it in the CD-ROM drive and it will 
  121.         start itself.  
  122.  
  123. Q:    I have placed the Beavis and Butthead cd in my machine, but the 
  124.         game did not setup, why?
  125.  
  126. A:    Auto-Run will not function if you do not have the Windows 95 
  127.         drivers for your Cd Rom.  Click on the cd icon than double 
  128.         click on setup.
  129.  
  130. Q:    Why doesn't Beavis & Butt-Head start when my screen saver is 
  131.         running?
  132.  
  133. A:    Auto-play products like Little Thingies will not de-activate 
  134.         your screen saver before running.  The game is actually running 
  135.         when you put the CD in, but the screen saver has control of the 
  136.         screen.  Just de-activate the screen saver by shaking the mouse 
  137.         a little and you'll see Little Thingies.
  138.  
  139. Q:    Why does Little Thingies not run when I'm running another 
  140.         program that uses sound?
  141.  
  142. A:    Only one application in Windows 95 can use the sound card at 
  143.         once.  If you try to use two programs at once that use sound, 
  144.         Little Thingies will give you an error message.  Just quit the 
  145.         other application and then go back to Little Thingies.  
  146.  
  147. Q:    I know that there aren't any other programs running that are 
  148.         using sound, but sometimes Little Thingies gives me an error 
  149.         message when I click on the menu bar options.  What's causing 
  150.         this?
  151.  
  152. A:    You most likely have sounds attached to clicking on the menu 
  153.         bar.  Does your computer make a sound whenever you select an 
  154.         item from the menu bar?  If so, this is the cause of the 
  155.         problem.  Since Windows 95 is playing sound effects for 
  156.         clicking on the menu bar Little  Thingies thinks that another 
  157.         program is using sound.  Just click on "retry" when the error 
  158.         message pops up; the game will still run correctly.

  160. Q:    The Air Guitar mini-game doesn't show any of the songs I saved, 
  161.         what's wrong with it?
  162.  
  163. A:    You probably saved your songs with and extension other than 
  164.         ".AIR".  Just rename your song files so they do have that 
  165.         extension (e.g., if your song was "Blah", rename it "Blah.AIR") 
  166.         and then run Air Guitar and try loading those songs.
