About the Wicked Sounds for Windows application
After running SETUP, you'll find the Dynamic Link Libraries and the
executable (EXE) files needed for running the Wicked Sounds for Windows
application in the WSW directory.
All Wicked Sounds for Windows WAV files are located in the WSW\SOUNDS
directory.
The companion diskette contains all PASCAL source codes and resource
objects in a self-extracting archive file named WSWSRC.EXE. If you wish
to look at these files, and modify and compile your own version of the
Wicked Sounds for Windows application, copy the WSWSRC.EXE file to an
empty directory, and run WSWSRC.

Data temporarily held there but not being accessed constantly is transferred by CD-Speed to a QuickImage file on hard disk. Whenever the data is retrieved again, CD-Speed no longer needs to wait for the slow CD, but gets it from the hard disk instead. Result: the pace is stepped up impressively.
QuickImage technology really comes into its own with data that will not fit into your RAM. The gain in speed achieved is dramatic. The main reason, is that data remains available on hard disk until the CD is removed or the computer shut down.
For instance: You are running CorelDRAW! from CD and have created and saved a graphic. Then you print it and exit Windows. Now you notice some small blemish you want to correct. If you are working with SMARTDRV only, you usually need a little while to reload CorelDRAW! from the CD, because any ordinary cache program would have erased the data. In contrast, CD-Speed reads the data quickly from hard disk. The work you do is itself appreciably quicker, too, because the data needed no longer has to be read repeatedly from the CD: it is ready on your hard disk.
