The monitor, which lets you see information whilst working on your PC, is the primary output device of a computer. It connects to a display card (sometimes called a graphics card) which is itself plugged into the main system unit. Monitors vary in their size, colour, resolution and in the frequency at which they refresh the screen. The standard resolution for PC displays is called VGA.
