  7. This is the Diamond Viper V330 Windows 95 Display Drivers
  8. with InControl Tools 95 version 4.10.01.0127.

  13. These drivers require DirectX 5 to support DirectDraw and Direct3D
  14. applications.

  17. Known Limitations
  18. ------------------
  19. The NVidia Riva 128 chip used on the Diamond Viper V330 requires an IRQ to
  20. function correctly.  If no IRQ has been assigned to the card by the motherboard
  21. BIOS you may experience symptoms such as windows not booting, or extremely poor
  22. performance. The symptoms mostly involve error messages such as "While
  23. initializing device, VDD.  Windows Protection Error.  You must restart your
  24. computer."  and "While initializing device, NVRM.  Windows Protection Error.
  25. You must restart your computer."  Some motherboard BIOS' allow for an option to
  26. "Assign IRQ for VGA".  Often times the latest BIOS will also resolve this
  27. problem.  To correct the problem: Boot into the BIOS setup; Look for an option
  28. to enable IRQ for VGA (may be in chipset features or PnP configuration) and set
  29. it to enabled or on; Reboot the system and it should bypass the error.  For
  30. further information please contact your motherboard manufacturer.

  32. When running the DXSETUP.EXE program (which comes with Microsoft's DirectX 
  33. application), the version of the Primary Display Driver will incorrectly be 
  34. displayed as: 0.00.00.0000.  This is an issue with the DXSETUP program.  To get
  35. the correct driver information, run the DXINFO.EXE program from within the same
  36. directory that DXSETUP.EXE is found (on our CD the directory is
  37. DirectX\DirectX5\DirectX).

  39. Simultaneous output to a TV and a computer monitor is not supported.  To enable
  40. output to a TV, disconnect the monitor cable from the Viper card, attach a TV
  41. cable and restart your system.
  42.  
  43. Dxxx Nxxxx fails to enumerate available VESA 2.0 modes.  This allows you to
  44. select modes which are unsupported, such as 320x400.
  45.  
  46. Shiny Entertainment's game MDK doesn't handle [CTRL-ESC] task switching to the
  47. desktop properly when in D3D mode.  This can cause application or illegal
  48. operation errors when attempting to do this.
