IMPORTANT: If you encounter any difficulties in getting the game to run, or technical problems during the game itself, then please check the following points before contacting Technical Support at Virgin Interactive.

(1) INSTALLATION FAILURE:

If the installation does not appear to run correctly, ensure that all other applications are closed before trying again. Also ensure that there is at least 5MB of free space on your C: drive, which the installer requires for temporary files irrespective of the intended drive and directory for game installation.

(2) DIRECTX5 DRIVER PROBLEMS:

After installation of DirectX 5, ensure that all drivers are certified. See under Start | Settings | Control Panel | DirectX. If any of the drivers are not certified then contact the relevant hardware supplier for technical assistance.
The system profiler may report "No Audio Hardware" if you install the game whilst another program has control of the sound card. Similarly if you start the game whilst another application is using the sound card, you will not hear any sound in the game. It is recommended that you close all other applications before installing and playing the game.

(4) SOUND DISTORTION:
---------------------
It has been found that with certain video hardware, reducing the in-game graphics slider (in the options screen) to the minimum level (i.e. left-most position) causes the sound in the game to warble and be distorted. This problem is caused by system starvation by the video card's hardware blitter. An update of your video driver may fix this problem. Meanwhile it is recommended that you set the graphics level to one of the higher positions.

(5) PROBLEMS WITH DISPLAY:

If you encounter problems with the display during the game (eg. random flickering, corruption, blank screen) but all the DirectX drivers are correctly installed (see above), you may be able to rectify the problem by un-checking the "enable hardware acceleration" box under DirectDraw (under Start | Settings | Control Panel | DirectX | DirectDraw) and/or reducing the Windows95 hardware acceleration slider to the 'off' position (under Start | Settings | Control Panel | System | Performance | Graphics). Note that if hardware acceleration is turned off, the in-game graphics slider can not remain set to minimum - it will slide up one notch automatically upon returning to the in-game control panel.
