  2. Set up two more purchasing and sales units in your department
  3. store and import toy trains and video cameras from the seaport.

  6. When your department store is selling all the products from the
  7. seaport and making a profit, your mission in this instructional
  8. game is complete. Select "Next Game" in the instructional game
  9. menu and move on to the next instructional game.

  11. _How can I buy goods from the seaport?_
  12. Set up a purchasing unit and a sale unit in your department store
  13. and double-click the line between them to link them together.
  14. Select the purchasing unit and click the "Link Supplier" button.
  15. Double-click the small "pink" dot on the regional map to select
  16. the seaport. Now the products available in the seaport are shown.
  17. To buy a product, double-click on its picture.

  19. _Where should I set up new purchasing and sale units?_
  20. Select your department store and click on the "Layout" button to
  21. show the interior layout of your firm which consists of nine
  22. slots. Set up a purchasing unit in one of the slots and set up a
  23. sale unit next to it. You can set them up in any two of the nine
  24. slots as long as they are next to each other.

  26. _I cannot find toy trains and video cameras in the seaport._
  27. There are two seaports in the game. One supplies consumer goods
  28. and the other supplies raw materials. You must have selected the
  29. wrong one.

  31. _The goods that I've purchased are not displayed in my department
  32. store._
  33. It takes a short while for the purchasing unit to move the goods
  34. to the sale unit. Also, check your firm's layout to make sure
  35. that the purchasing unit is connected to the sale unit. If they
  36. are not connected, the goods will not be moved to the sale unit.
  37. To link them together, double-click the line between them.

  39. _I'm losing money, help!_
  40. Don't worry if you lose money in the first few months. The sales
  41. are increasing and your department store will soon turn a
  42. profit.

  44. _I'm confused by the reports_
  45. We will introduce you to the reports in the following
  46. instructional games. In this instructional game, you can operate
  47. a profitable retailing business without consulting any report.

  50. Learn from computer players. Look at their firm layouts, which
  51. are usually well designed.
