"Escape from 22ventry" DOOM V1.666 graphics patch
David J. Singer, doc@trognet.demon.co.uk
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ZIP archive contains the following files:
README.1ST -- This text file
22VENTRY.TXT -- Play information text file
22LEV.WAD -- Level data, wall textures and sounds
22SPRITE.WAD -- Sprite distribution DWAD
DMADDS11.EXE -- "DOOM ADD Something" V1.1 by Bernd Kreimeier
22VENTRY.BAT -- Batch file to run DMADDS then start game
DEMO(1-3).LMP -- Demos 1 to 3. (see note '1' below!)
Unzip the archive into your DOOM directory. The first time you run the
batch file it will use DMADDS to create 22SFX.WAD from the 22SPRITE.WAD
distribution file.
As the 22SFX.WAD file takes up about 2 Meg of disk space, you may wish to
remove it after playing. That's fine -- the batch file will recreate it
next time if it doesn't exist.
Alternatively, as disk space is so cheap and plentiful these days <g> you
can delete DMADDS11.EXE and 22SPRITE.WAD instead. This is probably the
preferred option as it speeds up the batch file -- important if you're
running something less than a 486.
NOTES:
1. If you get the "Demo is from a different version" error when DOOM
starts up, remove the DEMO lmp files from the batch file.
2. You can tag any of your favourite DOOM command line options on the end
of the batch file if you wish, eg:
C:\DOOM> 22ventry -turbo -devparm
Any problems or comments, please let me know!
(Incidently, it's pronounced "two-two-ventree")
