  16. Prologue       : Autark Issue One is due to be released in the first half
  17.                  of August 1996, so this package is just a reminder for
  18.                  you to send in your contributions.
  19.  
  20. Introduction   : Autark is a new mag. You know, with articles and stuff. The
  21.                  responsible persons for this mag are n-Factor and YOU of
  22.                  course.
  23.                  One thing Autark will feature is a corner for political
  24.                  discussions (hey, don't even dare to think that the demoscene
  25.                  and politics are not related in any way, just remember all the
  26.                  discussions about the french nukes in DGI for example).
  27.                  But this doesn't mean that we won't include any 'bullshit'
  28.                  texts, write whatever you want, but don't forget: your name
  29.                  will be published next to it :)
  30.                  The only language allowed for articles is English, of course
  31.                  you can write in your mother tongue in messages or addies.

  33. Technical Infos: The mag requires a 386 computer. As the 640x480x16 mode is used
  34.                  a vga is sufficient. The soundsystem included in the mag is
  35.                  the same used in our Digitrakker (which you should get btw., if
  36.                  you don't have it), so all the following cards are supported:
  37.                  + Gravis Ultrasound (GUS, GUS Max, GUS Ace)
  38.                  + Soundblaster (1.0, 1.5, 2.0)
  39.                  + Soundblaster Pro
  40.                  + Soundblaster 16

  42.                  The maximum size for one page is 38x21 characters, the
  43.                  maximum size for graphics is 304x320 pixels, please supply the
  44.                  graphics in 8 greyscale colors.
  45.                  Go ahead, make use of this feature, there are lots of
  46.                  possibilities, you could include a picture of yours or
  47.                  you could explain some steps of a picture with images
  48.                  of the steps being shown. The best entry will win
  49.                  a tin of Karlsquell.

  52. The interface  : The interface is totally gfx-based, so there are some advanced
  53.                  features available for writing your articles:
  54.                  + choose of different fonts and sizes
  55.                  + shadows
  56.                  + choose colors of fonts and shadows
  57.                  + include up to 200 graphics into your article
  58.                  + text and graphic alignment
  59.                  + proportional texts
  60.                  + much more

  62.                  The whole mag can be controlled by keyboard as well as by mouse
  63.                  with the mousecontrol being positionsensitive.
