Welcome to SCOOP Information Package #21 March 1996. This is an update of the
package #20 December 1995, there's a lot of new stuff, and changes, so
please take your time to read this file thoroughly. The main purpose of this
file is to tell you all about SCOOP and what we are doing, both in the
DEMOSCENE and the commercial part. We would like to take this time to tell
you that you can always contact us at the addresses and EMAILs at the bottom
of this file, for questions on what, when and how.

║ About SCOOP ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
As most of you allready know, SCOOP was founded around 1985/86 by Charles
Deenen. The SCOOP existing today, is not the same SCOOP Charles founded. At
least not most of the members, the concept I think, is pretty much the same.
A perfect harmony between techniques and beauty in both vision and audio.
Today SCOOP consists of 9 musicians, 1 designer, 6 graphicians, 11 coders,
2 comercial developers and 1 Internet/BBS/WWW man. All these persons are
on 2 different platforms, the PC and the AMIGA. Some of these guys come from
different platforms and different arenas. To mention but a few groups:
SHAPE, LEGION DESIGN, RIFFS, Beyond Force, The Suppliers, Panoramic Design,
CRYPT and so on... Almost all the members has been fiddeling around on both
C64 and AMIGA, and some of us on the Atari ST(e) too. Today the programmers
are specialized in Visual Basic, GFA, Turbo Pascal, C/C++ and assembly on the
IBM/PC, C64, AMIGA and ATARI.

║ SCOOP Ten Years ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
Yes it's true. SCOOP has finally managed to get ten years old. From the
original foundation, one member is still here, Jeroen Tel.
This year, 1996, we will try to be a bit special. We have plans for several
productions, let's just give it as a surprise to the demo scene.
╔═══╗
║ 4 ║
╠═══╩═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ SCOOP BBS ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
Yet again trouble in the old BBS camp. For the time being Alpha+ has moved
over to another BBS called Scandinavia BBS, and it looks like it's going to
be our HOME BBS. Anyway, don't despair, if you have an internet connection you
can still reach us on our WEB side and on our FTP sight.
WEB : http://www.netpower.no/~mawo/scoop.html or
FTP : ftp.netpower.no/pub/scoop.
We'll keep you guys posted on the situation....

║ What has happened lately ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
Nothing much really. We've just finished of the main demo for The Gathering
1996, and will not say anything else about that. We will work on some
intros and some other nice productions. SURPRISE SURPRISE!
Besides all this, me and some others from Funcom have started an independent
games developer company called "DiMaga Studios".
╔═══╗

╠═══╩═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ The Gathering 1996 ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
YES, it's true, The Gathering is going to be arranged yet again.
This time with the original arrangers, Crusaders.
And as usual it's going to be in Norway easter 1996.
By the time you read this, The Gathering 1996 Promotion Show is over and done
with, and Crusaders will start on the planning for the actual happening
in the easter next year. SCOOP is going to be involved at some stage, what
we will do has not been defined yet, we'll just have to wait and see.
If you want more information about The Gathering 1996, you can either
HTTP to http://www.netpower.no/~mawo/scoop.html or you could FTP to
ftp.netpower.no/mawo/scoop.
If you want to have a chat about gathering you could Email us at:
einar@funcom.com or geir@funcom.com.

A little explanation about the chart. "Party" means which party it was
released on, if any. "Place" means, that if it was in the competition, which
place it got. The rest you probably figure out yourself.

║ How to become a distribution site ║
╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
We are looking for distribution sites all over the world, to spread and handle
all of our productions. To become one of these sites, you have to follow the
following simple things :
* You must have all demos/intros released from SCOOP at any given time.
* You should always have information on your BBS about SCOOP, and what
is going on inside the SCOOP CAMP.
* Your BBS will be a 100% information forum for people that wants to know
things about SCOOP, this means that you have to install a conference of

First of all, I would like to take the time to thank all the people who have
been standing by us. Thanx for your support, without the support we probably
wouldn't exist. Another big thank you goes to Strand Data, for sponsoring our
group with hardware, big round of applause to you Rudi.
And a big thanx to Funcom for buying Silicon Graphics machines, and all
the cool hardware we've used for our demos(Hehe :] ).
The purpose of this text-file, is to let the world know about SCOOP, and
what we are doing at every given time.
All the text in this file was written by Adept. And might contain some
information that might be wrong.
Thanx for taking your time to read this...
