  1. This is a BETA version of AmiMUD, I'm releasing it on AmiNET since I'm 
  2. going in vacation, and I will not work on it for about two weeks, if you
  3. never tried one of the previous 3.0 betas of AmiMUD you'll notice that the
  4. program is A LOT different.

  6. Some of the default settings are changed, you need to create a directory
  7. called "output/" in the directory where you keep amimud and put the output
  8. modules into this directory, by default AmiMUD uses the new output module,
  9. it supports Ansi 16. To use the old console you need to add to your configuration
  10. the line:

  12. module=output/console
  13.  
  14. To enable ANSI 16 (suggested) put the keyword:
  15.  
  16. ansi16
  17.  
  18. ...in your configuration.

  20. Since the new output module is optimized BOTH for planar graphics and graphic boards
  21. interleaved is now disabled by default.

  23. You can find more information about the new configuration keywords also in the
  24. demo configuration.

  26. ANSI 16 should be fairly quick on any AGA machine, obviously with a Gfx board it's
  27. better. To set correctly the pens with ANSI 16 you need to use a 32 color screen.

  29. Some of the new configuration keywords are still not supported by AmiMUD_prefs
  30. and are not well documented in the guide, you need to look at the file lastbeta to
  31. see detailed informations about ALL the new features of the program.
