- This README.TXT file describes the contents of the DEC FDDIcontroller/PCI
- DOS-format Distribution Diskette (Disk 1). This diskette contains the
- following files:

- o Drivers that allow the controller to operate on network
- operating systems
-
- o System diagnostics utility
-
- o Digital Local Management Application (DEClma)
-
- The diskette is organized in several subdirectories. The subdirectories
- and their contents are summarized below. Each subdirectory contains a
- README.TXT file that provides detailed operating and installation
- instructions for its associated software.

- Some of the README.TXT files are long. You can print a copy of the
- appropriate README.TXT before beginning any of the installations. To
- view the README.TXT file, you can use a text editor installed on your
- system, or use the following procedure:

- At the MS-DOS prompt, enter the following:
-
- MORE <README.TXT
-
- The text output pauses at the end of each full screen. The text output
- resumes when you press ENTER. To stop viewing the README.TXT file,
- press CTRL-C.

- DOS-FORMAT DISTRIBUTION DISKETTE ORGANIZATION

- The root directory of the DOS-format Distribution Diskette contains the
- following files:

- README.TXT - This file
- RELEASE.NOT - Driver release notes for the DEC FDDIcontroller/PCI
- DEFDDI.INF - Used by Windows 95 to install the Windows 95 driver
- OEMSETUP.INF - Used by Windows for Workgroups to install the DOS NDIS
- driver in that environment
- OEMSETNT.INF - Used by Windows NT to install the Windows NT drivers
- DISK1 - Used by Windows NT to install the Windows NT drivers

- The root directory of the DOS-format Distribution Diskette contains the
- following subdirectories:

- Contains a README.TXT file with hints and suggestions on using your
- system's ROM based configuration utility to configure your DEC
- FDDIcontroller/PCI.

- \DECLMA

- Contains the user's manual for the DEC Local Management Application
- (DEClma). The DEClma executable files may be found with the device
- drivers.

- \DIAG
-
- Contains the system diagnostics for the controller. Run the diagnostics
- to verify the proper installation of the controller, or if you suspect
- that there is a controller hardware failure.

- \MSLANMAN.DOS
-
- Contains the DOS NDIS 2.01 driver for the controller and the installation
- files needed for installing the driver under Microsoft LAN Manager.

- \NDIS2

- Contains NDIS 2.01 DOS and OS/2 drivers and installation files and
- instructions for installing the drivers under the IBM LAN Server
- and PATHWORKS environments.

- \NOVELL

- Contains the drivers for Novell NetWare client and server operations
- and for using your controller as a Mirrored-Server Link adapter
- under NetWare SFT III. Corresponding versions of DEClma are also provided.

- \QNX

- Contains information on driver support for QNX real-time operating system.

- \SCO
-
- Contains SCO UNIX driver and installation instructions for the controller.

- \WFW
-
- Contains information on driver support for Windows for Workgroups.

- \WIN95

- Contains the Microsoft Windows 95 driver for the controller.

- Contains the Microsoft Windows NT drivers for the controller.
