  3. user in mind, and has been designed for ease of use
  4. and flexibility.

  7. Sensible Home Journal:

  9.     * IBM Compatable PC, 286 or better
  10.     * MS-DOS version 5.0 or higher
  11.     * Windows 3.0 or 3.1 installed
  12.     * At least 2.0 MB of system memory
  13.     * At least 1MB of free disk space
  14.     * Enough disk space for journal database files
  15.  
  16. You are free to use this unregistered software at no cost
  17. for 30 days. If you find this software useful, we ask that you
  18. register by sending only $19.00 plus 7.3% sales tax
  19. (sales tax for Colorado residents only) to the following

  27. to anyone that may be interested in trying it. You can
  28. also request additional copies of the unregistered

  33. it along with your payment. You will be sent a registerd
  34. copy of the software, as well as a complete user's guide.

  48. a new version on media of your choice. This version will
  49. have the registration reminder removed. You will also
  50. receive a complete installation and user's guide.

  52. About Sensible Home Journal
  53. ---------------------------

  55. Sensible Home Journal records and stores information in
  56. database, in the form of disk files. You can store
  57. these files anyplace on your disk that you choose.

  59. There is online help with the program that you can use
  60. if you have trouble getting started. We recommend that
  61. you read the help when you are getting started with your
  62. first database.

  64. Backup Procedures
  65. -----------------

  67. Due to the irreplacable nature of the information that
  68. is recorded in Sensible Home Journal, we recommend that
  69. you back up your data regularly.

  71. This will work best if you keep your journal files
  72. under the size of a diskette each. This may be 360K,
  73. 720K, 1.2M, or 1,44M, depending on your diskette drive.

  75. To make a backup of your journal database, you can use
  76. the DOS copy command, to copy database files to diskettes.
  77. If something happens to your hard disk copies of your
  78. journal databases, you will have a  backup to go back to.

  80. Picture Files
  81. -------------

  83. Sensible Home Journal provided the ability to store 
  84. pictures or other external documents, and associate
  85. them with journal entries. This most likely takes the
  86. form of scanned-in photographs.  We can also provide
  87. scanning services at a reasonable cost if you would
  88. like to have some photographs scanned. Contact us for
  89. more information about scanning services.
