  2. Graphicon: Study parameterized functions in an exciting way

  4. Graphicon allows you to study parameterized functions in an interactive way.
  5. You can change the parameters of a given function and see the resulting
  6. function curve immediately. For example, you can examine the behavior of

  8.      f(x) = a*sin(b*x) + c*cos(d*x)
  9.  
  10. by changing the values of parameters a, b, c and d. The function curve will
  11. change as you modify the parameter values.

  13. Graphicon features include:
  14.  - function data file handling (open/save/search)
  15.  - function curve printing
  16.  - data point handling (editing, importing from DBF, WK?, XLS, text)
  17.  - numerical algorithms (integral, differential, min/max, curve-fitting)

  24. Demo version

  26. This is the demo version of Graphicon, which can be distributed freely. The
  27. demo version is exactly the same as the retail one, with the following
  28. exception:

  30. The formula-evaluator recognizes only the sin() and ln() functions and the
  31. '+', '-', '*', and '(' and ')' operators. There are no power (^) and
  32. division (/) operators.

  35. Installation
  36.  
  37. Graphicon runs under Microsoft Windows 3.1 or later. For satisfactory
  38. performance, the following hardware configuration is recommended:
  39.  
  40.   - 4 MB RAM
  41.   - a color VGA monitor
  42.   - a mouse
  43.   - to achieve a satisfactory operating speed, you need a 486 machine or a
  44.     386 with a mathematical co-processor.

  46. The installation procedure is the following:
  47.  
  48.   1. Copy the contents of this ZIP file to a diskette.
  49.   2. Start Windows.
  50.   3. Insert the diskette into the drive.
  51.   4. In the Program Manager choose the File/Run menu command. Type

  53.             <drive>:\SETUP
  54.  
  55.      in the dialog box that appears and click the OK button.
