  2.                         About Display Information File                                                                      
  3. ******************************************************************************

  5. The Display Information File includes the information of your display.
  6. When your display does not support Plug & Play function, this file enables
  7. setting suitable resolution and refresh rate for your display.
  8.  
  9. * About Plug & Play
  10.    When your computer and display support VESA DDC, the suitable resolution
  11.    and the refresh rate are set by just plugging your display into the 
  12.    computer without any manual settings.
  13.    When your computer system supports Plug & Play, the Display Information
  14.    File is not required except for installing the Color Profile.
  15.  
  16.   (System requirement for Plug & Play)
  17.     OS (Operating System) supporting VESA DDC
  18.         Microsoft Windows 95 (Windows 95)
  19.         Microsoft Windows 98 (Windows 98)
  20.         Microsoft Windows 2000 (Windows 2000)
  21.     Computer (Graphics Board) supporting VESA DDC
  22.     Display Cable supporting VESA DDC
  23.  
  24.   * Please contact each manufacture (computer, OS, graphics board)
  25.     to find if your system supports VESA DDC.

  27.   * The following procedure may differ depending on your computer
  28.     (graphics board).

  30. * About VESA DDC
  31.    Plug & Play standard for the display settled by VESA (Video Electronics
  32.    Standards Association)
  33.  
  34.

  36. 1) For using on Windows 95                                                    
  37. ==============================================================================
  38. When your system does not support VESA DDC, the display name is listed in the
  39. display list and monitor information is stored in Windows 95 by installing the
  40. Display Information File.
  41.  
  42. Settings
  43.  
  44. (1)  Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 95.
  45.  
  46. (2)  Download the "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files into
  47.      the floppy disk.
  48.  
  49. (3)  Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  50.  
  51. (4)  Double-click "Display" icon in the "Control Panel" and open "Display
  52.       Properties".
  53.  
  54. (5)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Change Display Type...".
  55.      (or click "Advanced...".)
  56.  
  57. (6)  Select "Change..." from "Monitor type".
  58.      (or select "Monitor" tag and click "Change...".)
  59.  
  60. (7)  Click "Have Disk..." in the Selected Device dialog box.
  61.  
  62. (8)  Insert above (2) floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.

  64. (9)  Select the floppy disk drive and select "Copy manufacturer files from:"
  65.      and then click "OK".

  67. (10)  Select the preferred monitor from the displayed "Models:" list.

  69. (11) Select "OK" and close the dialog box.

  71. (12) Restart Windows 95 to activate the setting.

  75. 2) For using on Windows 98                                                  
  76. ============================================================================
  77. * For the system supporting VESA DDC
  78.  
  79. If your system supports VESA DDC, the display is automatically recognized
  80. and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected. 
  81. There is no need to install the Display Information File except for using
  82. the Color Profile.

  84. Settings
  85.  
  86. (1)  Connect the Display with the Computer and start Windows 98.
  87.  
  88. (2)  After "New Hardware Found" is displayed, "Add New Hardware Wizard"
  89.       window appears and "The wizard searches for new drivers for: Plug and
  90.       Play Minter" is displayed. Click "Next".
  91.  
  92. (3)  Select "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)" then
  93.       click "Next".
  94.  
  95. (4)  Click "Next" without marking the target drive for searching the driver.
  96.  
  97. (5)  "Windows driver file searches for the device: Plug and Play Monitor" is
  98.       displayed then click "Next".
  99.  
  100. (6)  "Windows has finished installing the software that your new hardware
  101.       device requires." is displayed then click "Finish".

  104. * For the system not supporting VESA DDC
  105.  
  106. Settings

  108. (1)  Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files
  109.       into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive.

  111. (2)  Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  112.  
  113. (3)  Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display
  114.       Properties".
  115.  
  116. (4)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...".
  117.  
  118. (5)  Select "Monitor" tag and click "Change...".

  120. (6)  "Update Device Driver Wizard" windows appears and click "Next".
  121.  
  122. (7)  Select "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so
  123.       you can select the driver you want." then click "Next".

  125. (8)  Click "Have Disk..."
  126.  
  127. (9)  "Install From Disk" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive
  128.       in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:" section. Click "OK".

  130. (10) Select a suitable display name from the "Models:" then click "Next".

  132. (11) "Windows driver file searches for the device:" is displayed and click
  133.       "Next".

  135. (12) "Windows has finished installing the driver you selected for your
  136.       hardware device." is displayed and click "Finish".

  140. 3) For using on Windows 2000                                                  
  141. ============================================================================

  162. (5)  Select "Monitor" tag and confirm "Plug and Play Monitor" is displayed
  163.       in the "Monitor Type".

  187.        I can choose a specific driver" and click "Next".

  189. (9)  Click "Have Disk...".

  191. (10) "Install From Disk" window is displayed and select a floppy disk drive
  192.       in the "Copy manufacturer's files from:" section. Click "OK".
  193.  
  194. (11) Select a suitable display name from the "Models:" then click "Next".
  195.  
  196. (12) "The wizard is ready to install the driver for the following hardware
  197.        device:" is displayed and confirm that your selected display name
  198.        is displayed. Click "Next".
  199.  
  200. (13) "Digital Signature Not Found" window may appear. Click "Yes" to
  201.        continue the installation.
  202.  
  203. (14) "Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" is displayed and
  204.         click "Finish".

  208.                         About Color Profile                                                                                     
  209. ******************************************************************************
  210. Color Profile (ICC Profile) includes all the necessary color information
  211. for the display.
  212. This file is used for color management with the application software
  213. which support ICC function. 
  214.  
  215. * What is the ICC Profile?
  216.    A specific file including the color characteristic information for the
  217.    device, settled by ICC (International Color Consortium).
  218.  
  219. * Settings
  220.    The Color Profile is not automatically installed on Windows 98 and
  221.    Windows 2000. Please install the profile following the instruction
  222.    of below.
  223.    When installing the Display Information File with above procedure,
  224.    the Color Profile is automatically installed. In this case, the following
  225.    profile will be set as a default profile;

  227.    Default Color Profile;
  228.      CRT Display Monitor: xxx_93 (9300K Color Temperature)
  229.      LCD Display Monitor: xxx_m1 (Color Mode 1)

  232. For using on Windows 98 and Windows 2000                                                 
  233. ============================================================================

  235. Settings
  236.  
  237. (1)  Download "Display Information File" and copy the extracted files
  238.       into the floppy disk and insert the disk into the floppy disk drive.

  240. (2)  Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  241.  
  242. (3)  Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display
  243.       Properties".
  244.  
  245. (4)  Select "Settings" tag and click "Advanced...".
  246.  
  247. (5)  Select "Color Management" tag and click "Add...".
  248.  
  249. (6)  "Add Profile Association" window is displayed and select a floppy disk
  250.       drive in the "Look in:" section.
  251.  
  252. (7)  Select a suitable Color Profile from the list then click "Add".

  254. (8)  Select a Color Profile from the list in the "Color Profiles currently
  255.       associated with this device:" and click "Set As Default".
  256.  
  257. (9)  Click "Apply" and click "OK" to close a menu.
