  66. The setup program must be run under Windows NT to install the Windows 
  67. NT drivers and 3dfx device services.  The account used during install
  68. must have administrator permissions.

  70. 1) Run the self-extracting executable to begin setup.
  71. 2) Follow the on screen prompts.
  72. 3) After installation you may need to reboot the system.

  75. Troubleshooting Voodoo2

  80. Q: I have an S3 968/868 video card, why does my system lock
  81. up when I run a Glide or Direct3D title.
  82.  
  83. A: S3 968 and 868 chipsets may misreport the mapped memory used.
  84. There is a chance that your Voodoo2 card will be assigned by 
  85. Plug and Play a memory range that is used by the S3 card, but
  86. not reported.   The Voodoo2 card can be relocated by:
  87.  
  88.     Windows NT Users: An NT service called NTREMAP is 
  89.         installed when Glide is added to an NT system.
  90.     NTREMAP can change the memory address of a Voodoo2 
  91.     board and prevent a conflict with an S3 card.
  92.  
  93.     To use NTREMAP, add the following registry values to:
  94.     \HKLM\Software\3dfx Interactive\NTRemap
  95.

  101.     The Force Address setting will vary, in this example
  102.     0x12000000 is used.  This is normally free on most
  103.     systems.

  105.     NOTE: If you use an address that over-writes another
  106.     device, Windows NT may not boot.  If such a problem 
  107.     occurs, power off the system and remove your Voodoo2.
  108.     Alter the registry to use a different memory range 
  109.     (or remove the ForceAddress setting). Then Reinstall
  110.     the Voodoo2 card into your system.

  113. Q: Sometimes a dialog box pops on startup stating "Genport I/O error".
  114.  
  115. A: This is a bug in the Control Panel. It does not affect the operation of the Voodoo2.
