  14. 1) Setting up the USB function 
  15.    (for the EIZO FlexScan F67/T68/FX-D7/TX-D7/E67F/E67T monitor
  16.     and the i-Station)

  18. NOTE
  19. To utilize the USB hub function, the following system environment is required.
  20. * USB compliant PC or another USB hub connected to the USB compliant PC
  21. * OS (Windows 98, Windows 2000)
  22. * EIZO USB cable (MD-C93)
  23. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24. Windows 98
  25.  
  26. (1)  Copy the downloaded files into the floppy disk and insert the disk into
  27.      the floppy disk drive.
  28.  
  29. (2)  When using the i-Station, connect the serial port of the i-Station 
  30.      to the maintenance port of the monitor with the EIZO maintenance port 
  31.      cable (MD-C94).
  32.  
  33. NOTE When using a model which does not have a maintenance port or not using 
  34.      "ScreenManager Pro for USB", procedure (2) does not need to be done.
  35.  
  36. (3)  Connect the upstream port of the monitor (or the i-Station)
  37.      to the downstream port of the USB compliant PC or another hub using 
  38.      the EIZO USB cable (MD-C93).
  39.  
  40. (4)  "EIZO USB Hub" appears on the screen. Follow the instruction.
  41.  
  42. NOTE If the step (2) is skipped, the USB function setup is completed here.
  43.  
  44. (5)  After the setup of the "EIZO USB Hub", "Add New Hardware Wizard" window 
  45.      appears on the screen, and "USB Device" is detected. Click the 
  46.      "Next button".
  47.  
  48. (6)  Select the "Search for the best driver for your device (recommend)" 
  49.      button, and click the "Next" button.
  50.  
  51. (7)  Select the "Floppy disk drives" and click the "Next" button.
  52.  
  53. (8)  "EIZO USB Monitor" appears on the screen. Follow the instruction.

  56. Windows 2000
  57.

  81.      button, and click the "Next" button.

  83. (7)  Select the "Floppy disk drives" and click the "Next" button.

  85. (8)  The wizard found a driver for the "USB Device" from the floppy disk,
  86.      then click "Next" button.

  88. (9)  "EIZO USB Monitor" is detected and click the "Finish" button.

  91. Confirmation of USB setup
  92.  
  93. Please make sure the proper installation is completed by following 
  94. the confirmation below.

  96. Windows 98
  97. (1)  Click the "Start" button and open the "Control Panel" from the 
  98.      "Settings".
  99. (2)  Select and double click the "System" from the "Control Panel" to open 
  100.      the "System Properties".
  101. (3)  Select "Device Manager" in the "System Properties".
  102. (4)  Confirm if the "EIZO USB Hub" and "EIZO USB Monitor" appear under
  103.      "Universal Serial Bus controller".
  104.      Above indicated that the settings were properly completed.  
  105.      If the step (2) is skipped, the "EIZO USB Monitor" is not appeared.
  106.  
  107. Windows 2000
  108. (1)  Click the "Start" button and open the "Control Panel" from the 
  109.      "Settings".
  110. (2)  Select and double click the "System" from the "Control Panel" to open 
  111.      the "System Properties".
  112. (3)  Select "Hardware" tag in the "System Properties" and click the "Device
  113.      Manager" button.
  114. (4)  Double click "Universal Serial Bus controller" and confirm if the
  115.      "EIZO USB Hub" and "EIZO USB Monitor" appear under "Universal 
  116.      Serial Bus controller".
  117.      Above indicated that the settings were properly completed.  
  118.      If the step (2) is skipped, the "EIZO USB Monitor" is not appeared.

  122. 2) Setting up the "ScreenManager Pro for USB" 
  123. ==============================================================================
  124. "ScreenManager Pro for USB" is the utility for adjusting the display from 
  125. the PC using the mouse or keyboard through the USB interface. 
  126.  
  127. Please refer to the README.TXT file included in the archived file of the
  128. "ScreenManager Pro for USB for Windows 98/Windows 2000" for how to
  129. install the program.

  133. 3) How to update the driver

  135. Windows 98
  136.  
  137. (1)  Start Windows 98 with connecting the upstream port of the monitor
  138.      (or the i-Station) to the downstream port of the USB compliant PC or
  139.      another hub using the EIZO USB cable (MD-C93).
  140.  
  141. (2)  Click "Start" button and click "Control Panel" from the "Settings".
  142.  
  143. (3)  Double click "System" from the "Control Panel".
  144.  
  145. (4)  Select "Device Manager" tag in the "System Properties".
  146.  
  147. (5)  Double click "Universal serial bus controller" from the displayed device
  148.      list.
  149.  
  150. (6)  Double click "EIZO USB Monitor" displayed under the "Universal serial
  151.      bus controller".

  153. (7)  Select "Driver" tag in the "EIZO USB Monitor Properties".

  155. (8)  Click "Update Driver" button.

  157. (9)  "Update Device Driver Wizard" menu is displayed, then click "Next" button.

  159. (10) Mark "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now"
  160.      and click "Next" button.

  162. (11) Select "Floppy disk drives" as a target drive and insert the driver 
  163.      diskette into the floppy disk drive then click "Next" button.

  165. (12) "Windows driver file search for the driver: EIZO USB Monitor" is 
  166.      displayed, then click "Next" button.

  168. (13) "EIZO USB Monitor Windows has finished installing an updated driver for
  169.      your hardware device." is displayed, then click "Finish" button.

  172. Windows 2000
  173.  
  174. (1)  Start Windows 2000 with connecting the monitor (or the i-Station) to
  175.      the PC using the EIZO USB cable (MD-C93).
  176.  
  177. (2)  Click "Start" button and click "Control Panel" from the "Settings".
  178.  
  179. (3)  Double click "System" from the "Control Panel".
  180.  
  181. (4)  Select "Hardware" tag in the "System Properties".
  182.  
  183. (5)  Click the "Device Manager" button.
  184.  
  185. (6)  Double click "Universal Serial Bus controller".

  187. (7)  Double click "USB Device" with "!" mark on the USB icon displayed under
  188.      the "Universal Serial Bus controller".

  190. (8)  Select "Driver" tag in the "USB Device Properties".

  192. (9)  Click "Update Driver" button.

  194. (10) "Update Device Driver Wizard" menu is displayed, then click "Next" button.

  196. (11) Mark "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can
  197.      choose a specific driver" and click "Next" button.

  199. (12) Click "Have Disk" button in the driver select menu.
  200.  
  201. (13) Insert the driver diskette into the floppy disk drive and click "OK" 
  202.      button.
  203.  
  204. (14) Select "EIZO USB Monitor" displayed in the "Models:" of the Device
  205.      Driver select menu, then click "Next" button.
  206.  
  207. (15) "The wizard is ready to install the driver for the following hardware
  208.      device: EIZO USB Monitor" is displayed then click "Next" button.

  210. (16) "Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard  EIZO USB Monitor" is 
  211.      displayed, then click "Finish" button.

  217. (1)  Click "Start" button and click "Control Panel" from the "Settings".
  218. (2)  Double click "System" from the "Control Panel".

  220. (4)  Double click "Universal serial bus controller" from the displayed device
  221.      list.
  222. (5)  Double click "EIZO USB Monitor" displayed under the "Universal serial bus 
  223.      controller".
  224. (6)  Select "Driver" in the "EIZO USB Monitor Properties".
  225. (7)  Click "Driver File Details.." button.
  226. (8)  Check that the driver version is displayed as "File version: 1.01.0000".

  228. Windows 2000
  229. (1)  Click "Start" button and click "Control Panel" from the "Settings".
  230. (2)  Double click "System" from the "Control Panel".

  247. File has been updated to fix the following problem:
  248.      When connecting the monitor (or the i-Station) to the PC through the
  249.      USB cable on Windows 2000, "EIZO USB Monitor" can not be recognized
  250.      correctly and "USB Device" with "!" mark is displayed under the 
  251.      "Universal Serial Bus controller" on "Device Manager".
  252.  
  253. Note: The driver file (EIZMONW.SYS) has not been updated with this update.
  254.       Therefore, the driver version has not been changed from V1.01.

  259. File has been updated to fix the following problem:
  260.      After finish setting up the USB function on Windows 98, click "Start"
  261.      button on the tool-bar and select "Shut Down". Then select "Stand by"
  262.      and click "OK" button. The computer will go into the "Stand by" mode.
  263.      (With some computers which do not support "Stand by" mode, "Stand by"
  264.      can not be selected.)
  265.      Then move mouse to activate the system, however the system can not be
  266.      recovered from the "Stand by" mode.
