  1. README for TurboLinux's 2.0->3.0 upgrade script

  5. This script carries its own documentation which will be presented to
  6. you as you move through the upgrade process.  However, it is highly
  7. recommended that you print out a copy of upgrade-doc2.txt and have it
  8. handy while performing the upgrade.
  9.  
  10. To start the upgrade, log in to your system as the super-user (root).
  11. If you have a TurboLinux 3.0 CD-ROM, place it in the drive and mount
  12. it with 'mount /mnt/cdrom'.  Then, you must enter runlevel 1 by typing
  13. 'telinit 1'.  Once you are in runlevel 1 (single-user mode), cd to the
  14. directory that contains this file and run './upgrade'
  15.  
  16. When the process is finished, the system will be halted.  At this
  17. point you may either reboot with CTRL-ALT-DEL, hit the reset button,
  18. or turn the computer off.

  20. REQUIREMENTS:
  21. -------------
  22.  
  23. 1.  A system with TurboLinux 2.0 English (USA) installed on it.  This
  24. script can NOT upgrade TurboLinux 1.x to 3.0.
  25.  
  26. 2.  A TurboLinux 3.0 CD-ROM or a sufficiently fast network connection
  27. to upgrade via FTP.
