< Installing the NetWare V3.1x drivers>
The following describes how to install driver modules, NV31XBMP.DSK, for
NetWare v3.11/3.12/SFT-III:
First copy the two files, NV31XBMP.DSK and ASPITRAN.DSK, from the NetWare
driver diskette that comes with your DC-390 to the directory where the server
program resides.
After booting up the NetWare operating system, load the DC-390 driver by typing
at the prompt
:load nv31xbmp <Return>
ASPITRAN.DSK will be automatically loaded with messages like the following:
Loading module NV31XBMP.DSK
DC-390 PCI SCSI Adapter Driver For NetWare V3.11/3.12/SFT-III
Version 1.51 April 24, 1995
Auto-loading module ASPITRAN.DSK
Tekram SCSI Adapter NetWare 386 ASPI Transport Layer
Version 1.51 April 24, 1995
Supported Slot values are 9
Slot = 9 (note: this slot number is SLOT and MAINBOARD dependent)
Write down this slot number for later use and press <Enter> to proceed:
DC-390: BUS#00 DEV#09 FUN#0
Adapter SCSI ID : 7
I/O Port Address : D000h
Interrupt Level : 11
To simplify the booting procedure thereafter, you may want to edit STARTUP.NCF
file by modifying the line:
LOAD NV31XBMP port=FC00 int=A
to =>
LOAD NV31XBMP SLOT=X (note: use the slot number you just wrote down)
Replace the 'X' with 9 for the current example. Refer to the NetWare manual for
the procedure to edit this STARTUP.NCF file.
In case that two or more DC-390s are present, you have to load the same driver
by typing "load NV31XBMP" as many times as the number of DC-390 adapters
installed.
