  4. This is the read me file for the Graphics Blaster 3D Windows 95 driver
  5. update disk, containing information on how to replace the Graphics
  6. Blaster 3D drivers currently in use on your system with the latest
  7. version (v1.12).
  8.  
  9. This file contains the following sections:
  10.  
  11. 1. How to install the latest set of Graphics Blaster 3D drivers
  12. 2. What are the enhancements in this version of the drivers?

  16. 1. How to install the latest set of Graphics Blaster 3D drivers
  17.    ------------------------------------------------------------

  19.    To install the new Graphics Blaster 3D drivers, follow the steps
  20.    listed below:
  21.  
  22.      1. Create a new directory on your hard-disk (eg, C:\NEWDRV)
  23.      2. Copy the new set of driver files to this directory
  24.      3. Click on the Windows 95 Start button, select Settings, 
  25.         and click on Control Panel
  26.      4. Double-click on the Display applet. This will launch the 
  27.         'Display Properties' page
  28.      5. Click on the 'Settings' tab
  29.      6. Click on the 'Change Display Type' button. This brings up 
  30.         the 'Change Display Type' dialog
  31.      7. You should see the entry 'Graphics Blaster 3D' in the 'Adapter
  32.         Type' field. Click on the 'Change' button next to 'Graphics
  33.         Blaster 3D'(this will bring up the 'Select Device' page)
  34.      8. Click on the 'Have Disk' button
  35.      9. At the dialog box, type in the directory path to where the new
  36.         drivers are found (eg, C:\NEWDRV) and click OK.
  37.     10. A new 'Select Device' page will appear. Make sure 'Graphics 
  38.         Blaster 3D' is highlighted and click on 'OK'
  39.     11. The new drivers will now be copied to your system.
  40.     12. The screen will now return to the 'Change Display Type' dialog.
  41.         Click on the 'Close' button (this will return you to the 
  42.         'Display Properties' page)
  43.     13. Click on the 'Close' button.
  44.     14. When prompted to restart the system, click on 'Yes'. After your
  45.         PC restarts, the new drivers will take effect.
  46.     
  47.    Note: The instructions above may vary depending on which version of
  48.      Windows 95 is installed in your system. If you have purchased your
  49.      PC with Windows 95 pre-installed, you may be using a newer
  50.      version of Windows 95 (called 'OSR2').

  52.      To find out if you have the 'OSR2' version of Windows 95, follow
  53.      these steps:
  54.  
  55.      (a) Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon in the Windows 95 desktop
  56.      (b) Select 'Properties' (this brings up the 'System Properties' page)
  57.      (c) Click on the 'General' tab
  58.      (d) Look at the entry for 'System'. If it states:
  59.  
  60.         Microsoft Windows 95
  61.         4.00.950 B
  62.  
  63.          then you have the 'OSR2' version of Windows 95. Older versions
  64.          of Windows 95 will just have '4.00.950' or '4.00.950a'
  65.  
  66.      To install the new set of Graphics Blaster 3D drivers on your
  67.      system if you are using the 'OSR2' version of Windows 95, follow
  68.      the steps below.

  70.      1. Create a new directory on your hard-disk (eg, C:\NEWDRV)
  71.      2. Copy the new set of drivers to this directory
  72.      3. Click on the Windows 95 Start button, select Settings, and click
  73.            on Control Panel

  77.      6. Click on the 'Advanced Properties' button. This brings up the
  78.         'Advanced Display Properties' dialog

  80.         Type' field. Click on the 'Change' button next to 'Graphics
  81.         Blaster 3D' (this will bring up the 'Select Device' page).
  82.      8. Click on the 'Have Disk' button

  84.         drivers are found (eg, C:\NEWDRV) and click OK.
  85.     10. A new 'Select Device' page will appear. Make sure 'Graphics 
  86.         Blaster 3D' is highlighted and click on 'OK'

  89.         dialog. Click on the 'Close' button (this will return you to the 
  90.         'Display Properties' page)
