  2.                            Flash Utility Readme
  3.                            ====================

  5. Please make sure that you have the correct BIOS ready and follow below
  6. instruction to reprogram the new BIOS.
  7.  
  8. [CHECKSUM.EXE]
  9.  
  10.         This utility will help you to determine if the BIOS has been
  11.         downloaded correctly or not.
  12.  
  13.         1. Execute "Checksum ********.ROM" from DOS prompt, where *******
  14.        is the name of BIOS binary file.
  15.         2. The utility will show "Checksum is ####".
  16.         3. Compare the "####" with original checksum posted on Web or BBS.
  17.         4. If they are in different, please do not proceed any further
  18.            and try to download the BIOS again.

  22.     This utility will help you to identify:
  23.  
  24.     1. The mainboard type
  25.     2. Current BIOS version
  26.     3. Current BIOS date
  27.     4. Super I/O chipset type
  28.  
  29.     Please make sure that you have downloaded correct BIOS for your
  30.     mainboard with correct Super I/O chipset. If you failed to do so,
  31.     it may lead your periphral device (such as floppy drive, printer
  32.     port) malfunction.

  34. [AMIFLASH.EXE]
  35.  
  36.         This utility will try to reprogram your system BIOS by using flash
  37.         memory technology. It will permanently  replace your original BIOS
  38.         content after flashing.
  39.  
  40.         1. Bootup the system from DOS prompt without loading any memory
  41.            manager (HIMEM, EMM386, QEMM386, ...).
  42.         2. Execute "amiflash ********.ROM".
  43.         3. After loading the new BIOS code, the utility will show "Press Y
  44.            to continue, N to reboot". If you are ready to go, please press
  45.            "Y" to proceed.
  46.         4. DO NOT turn off the power during "FLASHING".
  47.         5. Reboot the system by turn off the power after "FLASHING".
  48.         5. Press "INSERT" key (instead of "DEL") to enter BIOS setup
  49.            during POST.
  50.         6. Reload the "OPTIMAL" BIOS setting and reconfigure other items
  51.            as previous set.
  52.         7. Save & Exit. Done!

  55. local distributor for further information.
