(UPI) Andy Swyne pulled away from an impressive field to ride his kitten Fluffy to victory in the annual Queen's
Cup race at the Nanny County Fair yesterday. The $40,000 grand prize will go toward's Andy's college fund. Bea
Volly and Chet Honehocker tied for second place and will equally split the prizes for second and third places, except
Chet will get a little more since he's a boy and probably let Bea go ahead of him.
On a more tragic note, several of the entrants were crushed to death by their overweight riders. Several protesters
submitted petitions to place weight rules for the organized kitten racing event. Fair organizer Bradfin Pinchoat
commented: "Well, if you are going to have kitten racing, you're going to have some incidents. I just don't see the
sense of it. We all have a good time, and besides, the cats really enjoy it."
