  17. These files MUST be unsquished prior to installation.
  18. Copy contents of disk into a temporary directory and run the unsquish 
  19. utility.

  125. Each Network user will have their own System.ini file located in their
  126. personal Windows directory.  This file must be edited to reflect the 
  127. following changes.

  153. From the users Windows directory, Run 9RESET.  This creates the NUMBER9 
  154. file in the ROOT directory of the C drive.  This sets The #9GXE64 
  155. resolution to 640x480x256 colors.  This resolution may be changed later.  
  156. The NUMBER9 file may also be moved to a network drive. This also will be 
  157. explained further in this document.

  159. After executing 9RESET and making the changes to the SYSTEM.INI, you are 
  160. ready to run Windows.
  161. RUN WINDOWS NOW!

  163. You will now want to add a Program Group entitled #9 HawkEye Feature Set 
  164. to the Program Manager.  Add HAWKEYE.EXE and REXCHANG.EXE  programs that 
  165. you copied to the NUMBER9 subdirectory under Windows.
  166. Copy the Hawkeye icon into the StartUp Group or add
  167. C:\WINDOWS\NUMBER9\HAWKEYE.EXE to the LOAD= line in the users WIN.INI File.

  174. When the Number Nine Windows driver and HawkEye initialize, they
  175. read the NUMBER9 configuration file that contains information about
  176. the #9GXE64. The root directory of C drive (C:\)is searched first.
  177. If NUMBER9 is not found, Windows is asked for the location of the
  178. WINDOWS directory. If NUMBER9 is not found in the NUMBER9 subdirectory
  179. in the WINDOWS directory, an error may be reported.

  181. If you want to move or rename NUMBER9, you can do so by adding a 
  182. CFG entry to the [#9GXE] section of the SYSTEM.INI file in the
  183. WINDOWS directory. The entry would look something like this:

  189. HAWKEYE=
  190. When HawkEye is installed, its files are placed in the NUMBER9
  191. subdirectory in the WINDOWS directory. HawkEye utilities require
  192. this path to function.

  194. If you want to move the HawkEye files (e.g., to a network), you 
  195. can do so by adding a HAWKEYE entry to the [#9GXE] section of the
  196. SYSTEM.INI file in the WINDOWS directory.

  198. Note: The entry should contain the drive letter and full path, 
  199.       but NOT an individual file name. Do not put a backslash 
  200.       at the end of the path unless the HawkEye files are 
  201.       placed in the root directory.
