  10. This is the Readme.Txt file for the FreeSpace 1.0
  11. Evaluation Version.

  13. This 30-day trial version is freely available. After thirty
  14. days if you like the program you can purchase the shareware
  15. version from the Mijenix Corporation (http://www.mijenix.com/).

  17. INTRODUCTION TO FREESPACE
  18.  
  19. FreeSpace creates hundreds of megabytes of hard drive space by 
  20. letting users selectively compress files, as well as optimize 
  21. space on a hard drive through cluster optimization. Simply choose 
  22. the files or programs to "FreeSpace", and they look and work exactly 
  23. the same as before--while taking up dramatically less disk space.

  25. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  26.  
  27. FreeSpace requires the following hardware and software:
  28.  
  29. * Hardware:
  30. Any personal computer capable of running Microsoft Windows.
  31. 8MB of RAM (Windows 95). 16MB of RAM (Windows NT 4.0)
  32. 3MB of free disk space.
  33.  
  34. * Software:
  35. Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 NTFS.  
  36. FreeSpace will NOT run under DOS, Windows 3.1x or Windows NT 3.x.

  38. INSTALLATION
  39.  
  40. The FreeSpace Setup program automatically recognizes which 
  41. version of Windows you are running and installs the appropriate 
  42. settings and components (Windows 95 or NT 4.0). 
  43.  
  44. 1. Place the FreeSpace installation disk in the floppy disk drive.
  45. 2. Select the Start button in your Taskbar and choose Run from 
  46.    the displayed Start menu.
  47. 3. In the displayed Run dialog type a:\Setup.exe or b:\Setup.exe and
  48.    click on the "OK" button.
  49. 4. Follow the instructions of the installation program.
