A letter from the author!
thank you for your interest in XProlog!
Let me first apologize for the long delay but I was rather busy with the
OOPSLA conference in New Orleans, the Systems show in Munich and with some
preparations for my masters thesis.
I have good and bad news for you. The good one is that I have included this disk
with all XProlog stuff (including sources) that I found on my harddisk.
The bad one is that I have discontinued my work on XProlog long ago. Thus
I will not update XProlog and cannot support someone else in doing so.
The version you find enclosed has certainly lots of minor bugs which need
to be fixed. However, the bug you describe has never been a real bug. It was
originated by a Kermit transmission error. I resent that version as soon as
I noticed the error but obviously none cared. During the last two years
I got dozens of error reports like yours. It seems to me that some BITNET
fileserver still keep that garbled version. Thus you would do me a BIG
favour if you distribute XProlog as it is, especially to the person who gave
you the garbled version. XProlog is now totaly free and may be copied free with
all sources for whatever purpose.
The sources are in awful condition and partialy commented in German.
You need a Mark Williams C or equivalent compiler.
With kind regards,
Andreas Toenne
P.S. don't get confused
