  1. MasterBrowse 4.8 (w\ MasterBrowse Installation Program V.4.7)

  4.      This document explains how to install MasterBrowse; it does not
  5. contain the documentation that explains how to use MasterBrowse, though.
  6. That information is presented to you in the file MBROWSE.DOC after
  7. installation.
  8.  
  9.      To install the MasterBrowse Text File Viewer, please double-click
  10. on INSTALL.APP and provide the installation program with the following
  11. information:
  12.  
  13.      Destination Path
  14.      ----------------
  15.  
  16.           The destination path is the folder in which MasterBrowse will
  17.      be installed.  If you do not want to type the destination path, you
  18.      can use the file selector to locate it simply by double-clicking on
  19.      the editable text field.
  20.  
  21.      Boot Drive
  22.      ----------
  23.  
  24.           This is the drive that your system boots from; it is usually
  25.      the drive that contains your accessories and \AUTO folder.
  26.  
  27.      MasterBrowse Multitasking AES Client
  28.      ------------------------------------

  30.           This information is only required if you have Geneva, MultiTOS,
  31.      or Mag!X.  If you do not have any of these replacement operating
  32.      systems, select "None".  Otherwise, select the button that corresponds
  33.      to your configuration.

  35.      Alternate Viewer
  36.      ----------------

  38.           For MultiTOS and Geneva, MasterBrowse can be configured to call
  39.      an alternate viewer for picture files or special document types that
  40.      MasterBrowse cannot normally process.  If you want to use this feature,
  41.      follow these four steps:

  43.           1.  Click on "Install Alternate Viewer".
  44.  
  45.           2.  Enter the path of the alternate viewer in the
  46.               "Source Path" editable field.  The files in this
  47.               path will be copied to the destination path (with
  48.               the other components of MasterBrowse).
  49.  
  50.           3.  Enter the filename of the alternate viewer in the
  51.               "Alternate Viewer Filename" editable field.  This
  52.               information is needed so that MasterBrowse can
  53.               determine which of the files in the "Source Path"
  54.               is the alternate viewer.
  55.  
  56.           4.  The last step is to tell MasterBrowse which file
  57.               types should be processed by the alternate viewer.
  58.               There are twenty editable fields available for
  59.               this purpose, so even GemView can be used as an
  60.               alternate viewer.

  62.               NOTE:  All information entered is case sensitive; "*.JPG"
  63.                      is not the same as "*.jpg".
  64.  
  65.      That is all there is to it!  Click on the "Install" button,
  66. and the installation program will immediately begin working.  If
  67. you have made an error in input, the installation program will
  68. alert you and provide detailed instructions on how to proceed.

  70.      When the installation is complete, please reset your system so that
  71. the changes can take effect.
