  13.  Well, as promised, here is the report I said i'd write up on the last C.A.U.G. 
  14. meeting held at the radford Community Centre on 12th July.  As hoped, the venue 
  15. proved to be more than suitable,  and I think we have made a good choice. I for 
  16. one  am  looking forward to our next meet,  lets just hope we get  a  few  more 
  17. "faces" there :-).
  18.  
  19.   As those who attended will be aware,  a lot of time was spent on getting  the 
  20. important matters sorted for the future, namely getting someone to take hold of 
  21. the purse strings, for which I thank Nick Ripley and Carl Birkin for taking on, 
  22. (it was Barbados I was to meet you at, wasn't it ?) and also nominating someone 
  23. to meet with the RCA at their monthly meets.  This was taken on by Gordon Stott 
  24. and myself,  (hope we get free tea !:-)),  we'll get back to you with more info 
  25. on this when we can.

  27.   It  was also decided that the best way forward for the group  to  obtain  the 
  28. neccesary  funds to enable us to stay at the RCC was to introduce a  membership 
  29. fee to CAUG. This was set at £5 for the year, which entitles any paid up member 
  30. to all the facilities that the group has to offer,  ie the CAUG disk library as 
  31. well as any copying required,  the CAUG magazine library and,  of course,  free 
  32. admission  to all CAUG meetings,  otherwise a 50p entrance charge will be  made 
  33. and a charge will be made for the disk library etc.  I should also add at  this 
  34. point  that it was agreed there would be a consessionary (spulin cheka not  on) 
  35. charge for OAP's,  UB40's and U16's.  This was set at £3 PA. It was also agreed 
  36. that the tea would no longer be free :-(((, from now on it's 10p a cup, btw IOU 
  37. 2 cups I believe Gordon :-)  Well,  that's about the nitty gritty  done,  apart 
  38. from  the fact that the previous correspondence between myself and Ian  McLean, 
  39. the secretary to the Radford Community Association, was discussed, so on to the 
  40. meet itself..

  42.  Those in attendance at this meet (not many of us unfortunately) were :- (in no 
  43. particular order) Keefy (Keith Dunn),  Gordon Stott,  Nick Ripley, Carl Birkin, 
  44. myself Beaky (Keith Bateman),  Ken ??????????,  a new face :-),  Welcome to you 
  45. Ken and last but not least,  the All At Sea Captain Antony Lacey, who put in an 
  46. appearance  in the dying minutes,  although I am led to believe he'll be  there 
  47. for the whole show next month :-)  Unfortunately the computers didn't get  much 
  48. of  a look in at this meet,  time seemed to fly past,  although I  noticed  Ken 
  49. peering  inquisitvely over both mine and Keefy's shoulders at times  with  eyes 
  50. agog :-))).  Hopefully next month will be more of a hands on session with a few 
  51. progs  being demo'd and a few more questions being asked with a 30 minute  head 
  52. scratching answer to them <g>.

  54.  Well,  I think that's enough ranting from me for now,  except to say of course 
  55. that the next meet is on *9th August '97*, *same place*. *same times*.

  59. Now that we have this 'official' meeting place there is no excuse for  those of 
  60. you  near enough to Coventry not being able to travel  over.   Birmingham  must 
  61. have  hundreds of Atari users.  So come on down to the next  meet,  and if  you 
  62. have a machine, try and bring it with you ;-)
