  1.             Getting Started

  3.     Canvas is a complete graphics
  4. development package in a single
  5. program. It boasts multiple work
  6. screens, extensive modes and features
  7. including a 3D Editor and Viewer, an
  8. advanced Animation Studio, up to 4096
  9. colours on-screen at once (on an STE -
  10. 512 on most STs), any resolutions,
  11. on-screen HotSpot zoom and much, much
  12. more!
  13.     To load Canvas into your Atari ST
  14. computer, ensure that the power switch
  15. at the back of the machine is off.
  16. Insert the Canvas program disk into the
  17. disk drive and switch the computer on.
  18. After a moment the GEM Desktop will
  19. appear. Double-click with the left
  20. mouse button on the "CANVAS.PRG" file
  21. and wait for the program to load.
  22.     To use Canvas in Medium Resolution,
  23. boot-up as far as the Desktop in the
  24. same way as just described then go to
  25. the 'Options' Menu. Select the 'Set
  26. Preferences' option. A Dialogue box
  27. should appear. Use this to select
  28. 'Med'ium resolution and click on 'Ok'.
  29. When the Desktop appears once again,
  30. double-click on the program file and
  31. wait for Canvas to be loaded.
