  1. This archive contains information about how to get serial (modem
  2. and nul-modem) connections between two computers for the purpose
  3. of playing multiplayer DOOM (which is a mighty good thing to
  4. do!:)
  5.  
  6. You do NOT really need this file if you have no problems using
  7. doom in this way.
  8.  
  9. This is a modified version of a file of the same name that was
  10. originally uploaded to infant2.
  11.  
  12. I have not altered any of the original files, except to add this
  13. README.1ST file to the archive... AND
  14.  
  15. The original version of this archive contained the file
  16. BNUDM126.ZIP, which is NOW REMOVED from the original
  17. distribution!

  24. This was done for a couple of reasons:
  25. BNUDM126 is a work of passion, love, hard labour and a fair bit
  26.    of testing (I should know, I beta-tested it for my bother
  27.    David who did write it! :)
  28. It can, does, and *deserves* to stand in it's own right.
  29. It works very well indeed (for ver 1.2 of doom, that is; don't
  30.    know if it will work for the 1.4 & 1.5 beta's, or for the next
  31.    major stable release version).
  32. It is also a very redundant exercise to include another
  33.    well-known archive within this one.

  35. BTW, the two FAQ's enclosed here are also separately available
  36. from the doom directories at infant2.
