Timoshenko's Southwest Front has launched a follow-up offensive to the Izyum counteroffensive of February 1942. 8 Korps has dug in on a line anchored on Kharkov itself. The Soviet infantry formations had lost contact with ours, and their disorganization has given us precious time. The shock units of 21 Army are now moving forward to clear our forces in front of Kharkov itself. OKH cannot send us armoured reinforcements, but they are advancing the H-Hour of Operation Fredricius I to tomorrow at dawn. It is hoped that this counteroffensive will take the pressure off of 6 Army. In the meanwhile, we must hold on to our defensive positions around Kharkov!
