  1. XII Corps, 6th Armoured Division, CCB.
  2. 13 November 1944.
  3. On the Nied River.
  4.  
  5. The new offensive is six days old, and the German forces along 
  6. the Seille have been mostly destroyed.  The shattered remnants 
  7. have been driven back behind the tiny Nied Francaise River, 
  8. now three times it's own size, engorged with heavy flood waters.
  9. The disorganized Germans missed a bridge at the tiny river village
  10. of Sanry-sur-Nied, and Task Force Lagrew of 6th Armored Division's
  11. Combat Command B seized a bridgehead.  TF Lagrew is now ready to
  12. burst out of the bridgehead and disrupt a possible German line of
  13. defense along the Nied.  At this same time, a kampfgruppe of 21
  14. Panzer Division (finally reconstituted after several months in 
  15. the line as an anemic infantry outfit) is in the area, and is
  16. sure to attempt to crush the small bridgehead.  All manouvers 
  17. can be expected to be slow, as the river and creek valleys are
  18. morrasses of mud and standing water.
