  10. The zip file Sleeper.zip should contain the following files:

  17. Installing the program:
  18.  
  19. This program is distributed as a Zip compressed file. Unzip the file,
  20. using WinZip, or some other PKZIP compliant decompression utility, into
  21. any directory.
  22.  
  23. If you wish to have Sleeper run at startup, create a shortcut to it in
  24. you Start Menu, under the Startup folder.

  28. Uninstalling the program:
  29.  
  30. Delete the files listed above. The program also writes a registry
  31. entry under the key:

  33. HKEY_CURRENT_USER//Software//Paradigms Lost//Sleeper

  35. You may freely delete this key.

  39. System requirements:
  40.  
  41. Any computer running Windows95 or WindowsNT 3.51 or later should have
  42. no problems running the Sleeper program. If you do have any problems, 
  43. please let me know. See 'Questions, comments, and bugs' below.

  47. Instructions:
  48.  
  49. Run the program. An icon will appear in your system tray (the inset
  50. in the taskbar where the clock and speaker may appear). Right click
  51. on the icon to see the menu, or double left click to cut straight to
  52. the settings dialog.
  53.  
  54. The icon indicates the current state of the Sleeper program. A yellow
  55. exclamation point indicates Sleeper is watching the cursor location.
  56.  
  57. A green exclamation point indicates the screen saver is about to
  58. activate. This will last for 2 seconds, allowing you to change your
  59. mind.
  60.  
  61. A red exclamation point indicates Sleeper is blocking the screen saver
  62. from running.
  63.  
  64. The program switches between these states based on cursor position on
  65. the screen. In the Settings dialog, you define a Sleep Now corner and
  66. a Sleep Never corner. If the cursor is in the Sleep Now corner, Sleeper
  67. will run the screen saver. If the cursor is in the Sleep Never corner,
  68. Sleeper will block the screen saver.

  70. A large yellow question mark indicates the program is inactive, and
  71. is no longer watching the mouse. This state occurs when the Sleeper
  72. Active menu setting is turned off.
  73.  
  74. The Settings dialog also has options to allow you to change the size
  75. of the corners (in pixels), or to run the screen saver at startup.
  76. This last was added to give an extra level of security to systems,
  77. allowing them to lock the desktops behind password-protected screen
  78. savers right from the start.

  80. There has also been a command line switch added to the program. If you
  81. add "-noshow" to the command line, the icon will not be added to the
  82. system tray. Be careful when you do this, as you won't be able to
  83. change the settings without killing the program using the system task
  84. list. The icons will still appear when the program is blocking the 
  85. screen saver or getting ready to run it.

  91. To use this, create a shortcut to the program, then add the -noshow 
  92. switch to the end of the command line that appears on the 'Shortcut'
  93. tab of the 'Properties' page.
