  28. 1.0  PRODUCT LICENSE AGREEMENT

  30. THIS IS AN EVALUATION COPY OF THE SOFTWARE. YOU MAY
  31. ONLY USE THE SOFTWARE FOR THIRTY DAYS.

  33. After thirty days, you must either buy the software 
  34. from McAfee Software, Inc. or remove it from your 
  35. computer and stop using it. If you are evaluating 
  36. the software for corporate use and need longer than 
  37. thirty days, please contact McAfee to arrange
  38. an extended evaluation.

  40. THERE ARE NO WARRANTY RIGHTS GRANTED TO YOU REGARDING

  43. YOUR RIGHT TO USE THIS SOFTWARE IS LIMITED. If you
  44. have already downloaded evaluation copies of this

  48. rights, you must register and pay for the product

  62. 1.  LICENSE GRANT. McAfee Software, Inc. ("McAFEE") and
  63.     its suppliers grant to you a non-exclusive, 
  64.     non-transferable right to use the SOFTWARE for thirty
  65.     (30) days for the purpose of your evaluation of the
  66.     SOFTWARE. This license to use the SOFTWARE is
  67.     conditioned upon your compliance with the terms of this
  68.     license agreement. You agree you will only copy the
  69.     SOFTWARE into any machine-readable or printed form as
  70.     necessary to use it in accordance with this license or
  71.     for backup purposes in support of your use of the
  72.     SOFTWARE. You may:
  73.  
  74.       (i) UPLOAD THIS SOFTWARE TO ANY ELECTRONIC BULLETIN
  75.           BOARD OR
  76.       (ii) DEMONSTRATE THE SOFTWARE AND ITS CAPABILITIES.

  78.     THE FOREGOING DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY SOFTWARE BUNDLED
  79.     WITH A McAFEE PRODUCT BUT NOT MANUFACTURED BY McAFEE.
  80.     YOU MAY NOT REPRODUCE OR DISTRIBUTE THE SOFTWARE FOR
  81.     RESALE OR OTHER COMMERCIAL PURPOSES, INCLUDING WITHOUT
  82.     LIMITATION THE BUNDLING OF THIS SOFTWARE WITH ANY
  83.     PRODUCT THAT IS OFFERED FOR SALE.

  85.     This license is effective until the thirtieth (30th)
  86.     day following the date you installed the SOFTWARE.
  87.     At that time, you must cease use of the SOFTWARE and
  88.     remove it from your computer, unless you have paid
  89.     the current registration fee. You may terminate this 
  90.     agreement at any point by destroying the SOFTWARE 
  91.     together with all copies of the SOFTWARE. Also, McAFEE 
  92.     has the option to terminate if you fail to comply with
  93.     any term or condition of this agreement. You agree
  94.     upon such termination to destroy the SOFTWARE
  95.     together with all copies of the SOFTWARE.
  96.  
  97. 2.  COPYRIGHT. The SOFTWARE is protected by United States 
  98.     copyright law and international treaty provisions.
  99.     You acknowledge that no title to the intellectual
  100.     property in the SOFTWARE is transferred to you. You
  101.     further acknowledge that title and full ownership
  102.     rights to the SOFTWARE will remain the exclusive
  103.     property of McAFEE or its suppliers, and you will not
  104.     acquire any rights to the SOFTWARE except as expressly
  105.     set forth in this license. You agree that any copies
  106.     of the SOFTWARE will contain the same proprietary
  107.     notices which appear on and in the SOFTWARE.
  108.  
  109. 3.  REVERSE ENGINEERING. You agree that you will not
  110.     attempt to reverse compile, modify, translate, or
  111.     disassemble the SOFTWARE in whole or in part.
  112.  
  113. 4.  WARRANTY RIGHTS. As this is an evaluation copy,
  114.     McAFEE and its suppliers make NO WARRANTIES with respect
  115.     to the SOFTWARE. The SOFTWARE is distributed to you AS
  116.     IS, WHERE IS, AND WITH ALL FAULTS. In the event of
  117.     registration, McAFEE will grant you certain warranty
  118.     rights.

  120. 5.  NO OTHER WARRANTIES. McAFEE AND ITS SUPPLIERS DO NOT
  121.     WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE IS ERROR FREE. McAFEE AND ITS

  128.     SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF

  131.     LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES,
  132.     SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY
  133.     TO YOU. THIS LICENSE GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS.

  137. 6.  SEVERABILITY. In the event of invalidity of any
  138.     provision of this license, the parties agree that
  139.     such invalidity shall not affect the validity of
  140.     the remaining portions of this license.

  142. 7.  NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT
  143.     SHALL McAFEE OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR
  144.     ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR INDIRECT
  145.     DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF THE DELIVERY,
  146.     PERFORMANCE, OR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF McAFEE HAS
  147.     BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN
  148.     NO EVENT WILL McAFEE'S LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM,
  149.     WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY OF
  150.     LIABILITY, EXCEED THE LICENSE FEE PAID BY YOU, IF ANY.

  152. 8.  GOVERNING LAW. This license will be governed by the
  153.     internal laws of the State of California. The United
  154.     Nations Convention on Contracts for the International
  155.     Sale of Goods is specifically disclaimed.

  157. 9.  ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This is the entire agreement between
  158.     you and McAFEE, which supersedes any prior agreement
  159.     or understanding, whether written or oral, relating
  160.     to the subject matter of this license.

  162. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS
  163. Any distribution or license of the SOFTWARE to the U. S.
  164. Government or its agencies or instrumentalities
  165. (the "GOVERNMENT") is made only with RESTRICTED RIGHTS.
  166. Use, duplication, or disclosure by the GOVERNMENT
  167. is subject to restriction as set forth in subparagraph
  168. (c) (1) (ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer
  169. Software clause at DFAR 252.227-7013, or as set forth
  170. in the particular department or agency regulations or
  171. rules that provide McAFEE protection equivalent to or
  172. greater than the above-cited clause. Contractor/

  415. Before you install a McAfee product that you've downloaded
  416. from an online service, you'll want to verify that the 
  417. files you downloaded are exactly the same as when we 
  418. posted them online. We recommend you perform this task 
  419. for maximum anti-virus protection. Read the following 
  420. paragraphs to learn how to validate your file.
  421.  
  422. Included in the files you downloaded is the Validate 
  423. program. Validate is a file-authentication program 
  424. that you can use to check program files for signs of 
  425. tampering. Validate uses two methods of generating Cyclic 
  426. Redundancy Checks (CRCs), and then displays the information 
  427. so you can compare these statistics against the "known 
  428. value" for the program files. The dual CRC checking provides 
  429. a high degree of security. The known value you use for 
  430. validation usually is provided by the author of the program, 
  431. or you may receive it from a trusted information database. 
  432. You can find the statistics for this McAfee product in the 
  433. file PACKING.LST.
  434.  
  435. To confirm that a program file has not been tampered with, run 
  436. the Validate program and record the validation data produced.
  437. Compare this data against the file statistics the program 
  438. author has specified. If the information matches, most likely 
  439. the program has not been modified since the files were 
  440. placed online.

  442. To run Validate, enter the following command:

  446. where <pathspec> is the name of a directory and file. The
  447. wildcard characters * and ? can be used when specifying
  448. <pathspec>.

  455.      size of file (starting at row 15)
