  30. 1.0  PRODUCT LICENSE AGREEMENT

  32. THIS IS AN EVALUATION COPY OF THE SOFTWARE. YOU MAY
  33. USE THE SOFTWARE FOR ONLY THIRTY DAYS.

  35. After thirty days, you must either buy the software 
  36. from Network Associates, Inc. or remove it from your 
  37. computer and stop using it. If you are evaluating 
  38. the software for corporate use and need longer than

  70.     is conditioned upon your compliance with the terms
  71.     of this license agreement. You agree you will copy
  72.     the SOFTWARE into any machine-readable or printed 
  73.     form only as necessary to use it in accordance with
  74.     this license or for backup purposes in support of 
  75.     your use of the SOFTWARE in accordance with this 
  76.     license. You may:

  78.       (i)  UPLOAD THIS SOFTWARE TO ANY ELECTRONIC

  80.       (ii) DEMONSTRATE THE SOFTWARE AND ITS

  91.     This license is effective until the thirtieth 
  92.     (30th) day following the date you installed the
  93.     SOFTWARE. At that time, you must cease use of the
  94.     SOFTWARE and remove it from your computer, unless
  95.     you have paid the current registration fee. You may
  96.     terminate this agreement at any point by destroying 
  97.     the SOFTWARE together with all copies of the
  98.     SOFTWARE. Also, NETWORK ASSOCIATES, INC. has the 
  99.     option to terminate if you fail to comply with any 
  100.     term or condition of this agreement. You agree upon
  101.     such termination to destroy the SOFTWARE together 
  102.     with all copies of the SOFTWARE.

  104. 2.  COPYRIGHT. The SOFTWARE is protected by United
  105.     States copyright law and international treaty
  106.     provisions. You acknowledge that no title to the
  107.     intellectual property in the SOFTWARE is
  108.     transferred to you. You further acknowledge that
  109.     title and full ownership rights to the SOFTWARE
  110.     will remain the exclusive property of NETWORK
  111.     ASSOCIATES or its suppliers, and you will not 
  112.     acquire any rights to the SOFTWARE except as 
  113.     expressly set forth in this license. You agree 
  114.     that any copies of the SOFTWARE will contain the 
  115.     same proprietary notices which appear on and in 
  116.     the SOFTWARE.

  118. 3.  REVERSE ENGINEERING. You agree that you will not
  119.     attempt to reverse compile, modify, translate, or
  120.     disassemble the SOFTWARE in whole or in part.

  122. 4.  WARRANTY RIGHTS. As this is an evaluation copy,
  123.     NETWORK ASSOCIATES and its suppliers make NO 
  124.     WARRANTIES with respect to the SOFTWARE. The 
  125.     SOFTWARE is distributed to you AS IS, WHERE IS, 
  126.     AND WITH ALL FAULTS. In the event of registration, 
  127.     NETWORK ASSOCIATES will grant you certain warranty

  153. 7.  NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO 
  154.     EVENT SHALL NETWORK ASSOCIATES OR ITS SUPPLIERS 
  155.     BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, 
  156.     INCIDENTAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING 
  157.     OUT OF THE DELIVERY, PERFORMANCE, OR USE OF THE 
  158.     SOFTWARE, EVEN IF NETWORk ASSOCIATES HAS BEEN 
  159.     ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO 
  160.     EVENT WILL NETWORK ASSOCIATES LIABILITY FOR ANY 
  161.     CLAIM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER 
  162.     THEORY OF LIABILITY, EXCEED THE LICENSE FEE PAID

  165. 8.  GOVERNING LAW. This license will be governed by the
  166.     internal laws of the State of California. The 
  167.     United Nations Convention on Contracts for the 
  168.     International Sale of Goods is specifically 
  169.     disclaimed.

  171. 9.  ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This is the entire agreement 
  172.     between you and NETWORK ASSOCIATES, which 
  173.     supersedes any prior agreement or understanding,
  174.     whether written or oral, relating to the subject 
  175.     matter of this license.

  177. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS
  178. Any distribution or license of the SOFTWARE to the 
  179. U. S. Government or its agencies or instrumentalities
  180. (the "GOVERNMENT") is made only with RESTRICTED RIGHTS.
  181. Use, duplication, or disclosure by the GOVERNMENT is 
  182. subject to restriction as set forth in subparagraph
  183. (c) (1) (ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and 
  184. Computer Software clause at DFAR 252.227-7013, or as 
  185. set forth in the particular department or agency 
  186. regulations or rules that provide NETWORK ASSOCIATES
  187. protection equivalent to or greater than the above-cited

  530. * QUICK COMMAND REFERENCE GUIDE *

  532. Before you install a Network Associates product that 
  533. you've downloaded from an online service, you'll want 
  534. to verify that the files you downloaded are exactly 
  535. the same as when we posted them online. We recommend 
  536. you perform this task for maximum anti-virus protection. 
  537. Read the following paragraphs to learn how to validate 
  538. your file.
  539.  
  540. Included in the files you downloaded is the Validate 
  541. program. Validate is a file-authentication program 
  542. that you can use to check program files for signs of 
  543. tampering. Validate uses two methods of generating Cyclic 
  544. Redundancy Checks (CRCs), and then displays the information 
  545. so you can compare these statistics against the "known 
  546. value" for the program files. The dual CRC checking provides 
  547. a high degree of security. The known value you use for 
  548. validation usually is provided by the author of the program, 
  549. or you may receive it from a trusted information database. 
  550. You can find the statistics for this Network Associates 
  551. product in the file PACKING.LST.
  552.  
  553. To confirm that a program file has not been tampered with, run 
  554. the Validate program and record the validation data produced.
  555. Compare this data against the file statistics the program 
  556. author has specified. If the information matches, most likely 
  557. the program has not been modified since the files were 
  558. placed online.
  559.  
  560. To run Validate, enter the following command:
  561.  
  562.     VALIDATE <pathspec>
  563.  
  564. where <pathspec> is the name of a directory and file. The
  565. wildcard characters * and ? can be used when specifying
  566. <pathspec>.

  568. The Validate program displays the name of the directory
  569. that contains the file you're validating, the name of
  570. the file itself, its size, date and time, and two values
  571. for check methods. An example appears below:
