  4. Registration

  7. MemSnoop 32 is shareware. You may use the program for an evaluation
  8. period of up to 30 days, in order to determine whether the program
  9. meets your needs before purchasing it. Once the evaluation period
  10. ends, you agree to either purchase a registered copy of the program,
  11. or to stop using it.
  12.  
  13. The registration fee for the international version is US $10.
  14.  
  15. You agree not to install or use any individual copy of the program
  16. on more than one computer at a time. However, you may install an
  17. individual copy simultaneously  on one computer at work, one computer
  18. at home, and one portable computer, IF (and ONLY if) all computers
  19. are used primarily by the same individual.

  21. If you intend to use MemSnoop 32 in a network you have to purchase a
  22. license for every computer that uses it. Ask for discount prices if
  23. you want to buy a network license.

  25. To register you have to send a letter via old-fashioned mail
  26. containing:

  28.  - The registration fee of US $10 (No money orders!)
  29.    (If you worry about sending cash and insist on sending a money
  30.     order, I have to charge you $20 since the bank will charge me
  31.     about $10 for cashing the money order. Sorry about that!)

  41. I will send a registered version containing your name immediately to
  42. your email address. Please keep in mind that it takes one to three weeks
  43. for a letter from America or Australia to arrive here, so please be
  44. patient.

  47. you version of MemSnoop 32 on a floppy disk. In that case please add
  48. US $5 for postage and packaging and include your full postal address.

  52. Description of the displays
  53. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

  55. File: Current size of the swapfile in relation to its maximum size. The
  56.       text shows the exact size.
  57.  
  58. Swap: Currently swapped bytes in relation to the size of the swapfile.
  59.       The text shows the exact amount of swapped bytes.
  60.  
  61. Mem:  Used physical memory in relation to the total amount of physical
  62.       memory in your computer. The text shows the exact amount of free
  63.       physical memory.
  64.  
  65. CPU:  CPU usage in the last 1.5 minutes is being shown graphically.
  66.       Additionally the current CPU usage is displayed as text.
  67.  
  68. R/W:  The current read/write rates of the hard disks in your system.
  69.  
  70. Resources:
  71.       GDI:  percentage of available GDI-resources
  72.       User: percentage of available User-resources
  73.       CPU:  CPU usage (same as above)

  75. C:-Z: Used space on the corresponding drive relative to the size of
  76.       this drive. The text shows the free space.

  85.  Here you can enable or disable all of the above described resource-
  86.  meters. Enable 'show net-drives' to display net drives as well.

  90.  Choose your favorite color for any of the above described resource-
  91.  meters.

  95.  Here you can configure how the drives of your hard disk(s) will be
  96.  displayed:

  98.  'Each drive on its own': For each drive the free space will be
  99.    displayed relative to the size of that particular drive.
  100.  
  101.  'Free space proportional to largest drive': The free space from all
  102.    drives is displayed relative to the largest drive. So you can
  103.    compare the free space much better.
  104.  
  105.  'Proportional to largest drive (left)': The used and the free space
  106.    of each drive will be displayed proportional to the biggest drive
  107.    in your system. Therefore the bars for the smaller drives get
  108.    smaller too, and the remaining space will be 'filled' with a third
  109.    color. If you choose 'left', it will be filled at the right side
  110.    and so you can compare the used space on the left side.

  112.  'Proportional to largest drive (right)': Same as above, with the only
  113.    difference that the bars of the smaller drives will be aligned at
  114.    the right side. If you choose 'right', it will be filled at the
  115.    left side and so you can compare the free space on the right side.

  123. Problem Solving

  126. MemSnoop 32 is covered by other windows.
  127. -> press CTRL+Alt+Shift+S
  128.  
  129. You have problems with special drives or net drives.
  130. -> Disable 'Show net-drives' in Configuration: Display
  131.    Disable the corresponding drive in Configuration: Drives
  132.     
  133. You have disabled all displays and now you can't find MemSnoop 32
  134. on your monitor.
  135. -> That was not very clever!
  136.    Delete the file MemSnoop32.INI. Watch out! If you do so, the colors
  137.    you have set will be lost.
