  17. Description of the software
  18. ---------------------------
  19. EasyHelp/Web is a very easy to use hypertext authoring
  20. tool for use with Microsoft Word 6, 7 or 97. It supports most
  21. language versions of Word and was specially designed for non
  22. technical users.

  24. The same document(s) can be used for printing AND for creating
  25. Windows Help files or World Wide Web pages.
  26.  
  27. EasyHelp/Web is fully functional shareware.
  28.  
  29. This version replaces all earlier versions.

  31. Installing
  32. ----------
  33. Run EZY300.EXE from the Windows Program manager or Windows 95
  34. shell. The installation program detects the operating system
  35. and through a few simple questions, asks how you want to
  36. install the system.

  38. The a self-installing program will setup EasyHelp/Web
  39. on any Windows PC (Win 3.1x, 95 or NT)
  40.  
  41. What is installed?
  42. ------------------
  43. Most of the files are installed in the application directory
  44. (C:\EASYHELP by default) and a further two files are installed:
  45.  
  46. EASYHELP.INI - in your Windows directory
  47. EASYHELP.DOT - in your Word template directory
  48.  
  49. The installation includes an 'uninstall' option which you can
  50. use to remove the complete EasyHelp/Web system.

  53. How EasyHelp/Web works
  54. -------------------------
  55. EasyHelp/Web is a Word template which can either be attached to
  56. an existing document, or can be selected when you issue the
  57. command 'File|New' - you select 'EasyHelp' from the list of
  58. templates in your WinWord template directory.

  60. It gives you an additional set of editing tools which allow you
  61. to define a hypertext structure of topics and links within
  62. your Word document and then to compile it into independent
  63. hypertext files.

  65. From the same source document, you can create either Windows
  66. Help files or HTML Web pages, suitable for uploading onto the
  67. World Wide Web

  86. You can try EasyHelp/Web for 30 days, after that you must
  87. register if you intend to continue using it. The software is
  88. time limited and unregisterd copies will eventually stop
  89. working.

  105. How Registration Works
  106. ----------------------
  107. EasyHelp/Web is a fully functioning hypertext authoring
  108. program.  If you are running an unregistered version of
  109. EasyHelp/Web, each time you "Process" your file, you are
  110. prompted for your identification details and a registration
  111. number.  Hypertext files created with an unregistered version
  112. contain citations to Eon Solutions Ltd.

  114. Registration involves entering the correct registration number
  115. at the prompt.  The registration number will be sent to you
  116. either by Email or post, when your payment has been received.
  117. In the case of credit card transactions this could be within
  118. hours of receipt of the necessary card details.

  155. Eon Solutions was set up in 1993 by James Holroyd and is now
  156. co-directed by Jeff Hall.

  158. James Holroyd BSc MBCS CEng 
  159. A highly experienced IT consultant with 18 years experience,
  160. both in the public sector and the banking industry.  James is
  161. the creator of Eon's EasyHelp/Web authoring tool.  He is an
  162. acknowledged expert in the strategic implementation of large
  163. online documentation schemes.  He has experience at every level
  164. in the IT industry, from programming to strategic systems
  165. design. Being a Member of the British Computer Society and a
  166. Chartered Engineer, James operates to exacting professional
  167. standards.  He has a personal crusade to make computers as easy
  168. to use as possible.

  170. Jeff Hall MSc ARICS 
  171. Jeff originally qualified as a chartered surveyor, developing
  172. three-dimensional geographical information systems. He then
  173. graduated with distinction as an Operational Research
  174. Sceientist.  He spent ten years as a management consultant in
  175. the mining industry, eventually moving to a major IT
  176. consultancy in London.  Since 1993, he has been self-employed
  177. producing a variety of technology based training materials, and
  178. became the market leader in  developing sophisticated
  179. computerised business simulations (games).  His experience has
  180. given him a thorough understanding of how to use computers to
  181. communicate with all levels of users whilst maximising the cost
  182. effectiveness and added value of the technology.
