Minimum System Requirements
Psi-Sync for Microsoft Outlook requires Windows 95 or NT 4 with Microsoft Outlook 97 installed, a Psion 3a, 3c or Siena and Serial Link cable. No additional communications software is needed (PsiWin is not required). One available serial port.
If you are running Outlook 97 v8.0 (the Office 97 retail build) it is recommended that you upgrade to version 8.02 - this includes fixes for several bugs that can affect the operation of Psi-Sync. Outlook 97 v8.02 is available as part of Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Exchange Server 5.0 or as part of the Office 97 Service Release 1 update. Both are available for download free of charge from the Microsoft web-site at http://www.microsoft.com/office/office97/servicerelease/
Software Registration
Psi-Sync for Microsoft Outlook is shareware. If you continue to use the software beyond the 30-day evaluation period you should register it. Registration also unlocks the following additional functionality:
╖ Synchronise Calendar & Tasks folder with Agenda.
╖ Define and order Contacts fields to be transferred to the Psion during synchronisation with Data.
╖ Upload an existing Psion Agenda file to your Outlook Calendar.
Registered Users can also download the Contacts Upload Utility from the Psi-Sync web-site. This enables any existing Psion Data file to be uploaded into an Outlook Contacts folder.

Where are the synchronisation options?
The synchronisation options (Sync Outlook Calendar and Tasks with Psion Outlook Agenda and Sync Outlook Contacts Folder with Psion Contacts Database) will not appear until you have used the Download... options to create the files on the Psion. The synchronisation option(s) will appear the next time you start Psi-Sync after downloading your Calendar and/or Contacts for the first time.
Similarly, the Retrieve and Send Psion EMessages via Outlook option will not appear until you have installed the EMessage alias on the Psion (see the EMessages tab on the Options screen).

Editing the Contacts.ini file
The labels used for the Psion Contacts Data files are defined in the Contacts.ini file in the PsiSync installation directory. If you wish to change a label (e.g. to abbreviate it) you should edit the file using NOTEPAD or another plain text editor (not Word or WordPad). Additional languages can also be added to this file and will be available from the Psi-Sync web-site (different code-page conversions can also be "plugged-in" to the software).
If you add a new language set to the Contacts.ini file, please e-mail a copy to support@kerswell.demon.co.uk so that it can be made available to other users in your country via the Psi-Sync web-site.

Czech code page conversion and Contacts labels support is available as a add-on option, free-of-charge, from the Psi-Sync web-site at http://www.kerswell.demon.co.uk/download.htm
Manually starting Psi-Sync in HotSync mode
If you want to add a shortcut to manually start Psi-Sync in HotSync mode on demand, add a command line parameter of /hs to the pathname. For example, if you installed Psi-Sync in the default location, the correct command line for the shortcut would be:
"C:\Program Files\PsiSync\PsiSync.exe" /hs

The latest version of Psi-Sync for Microsoft Outlook can be obtained from the Psi-Sync web-site at http://www.kerswell.demon.co.uk/
Upgrading from Outlook Agenda Sync
If you are upgrading from a previous version of Outlook Agenda Sync, it is important that you synchronise your Psion with Outlook (using Outlook Agenda Sync) before running Psi-Sync as the format of the synchronisation database has been changed and is not compatible with previous versions. After installation, you must use the "Download..." options to create new Agenda and Data files (and PC synchronisation databases) before you will be able to use the synchronisation options in Psi-Sync.
Registration Keys for Outlook Agenda Sync are valid for Psi-Sync for Microsoft Outlook (you should not need to re-enter your key if upgrading on the same PC).
