  31.   CDProW is a shareware package.  Shareware is not free.  If, after
  32.   an initial trial period not to exceed 30 days, you find the
  33.   software useful and continue to use it, you must pay a license fee
  34.   for the right to use it.  During the 30 day trial period you are
  35.   under no obligation to buy it.
  36.   
  37.   The license registration fee for CDProW is U.S. $25.00.

  40.   changed since you obtained this copy of CDProW.  For this reason,
  41.   we suggest that you visit our web site to verify that you have the

  72.   which must be entered using the Options / Register menu selection.
  73.   This registration number unlocks the software so that you have
  74.   unlimited use beyond the 30 day trial period.  The fastest way to
  75.   receive your registration number is to provide an internet E-mail
  76.   address or an address for one of the major online services
  77.   (Compuserve, AOL, etc).  If you provide this address, we will E-
  78.   mail you the registration number and you can immediately begin
  79.   using CDProW beyond the trial period.

  102. 2 - Hardware and software requirements
  103.   
  104.   Beginning with release 2.0, CDProW is a full 32-bit Windows
  105.   application.  This means that it requires Windows 95 (or greater)
  106.   or Windows NT to run.
  107.   
  108.   CDProW uses approximately 3,700,000 bytes of disk space for it's
  109.   initial installation.  This includes demo and help files along with
  110.   necessary Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 runtime files.

  112.   The Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 runtime file MSVBVM50.DLL is
  113.   required in order to run CDProW.  If you are running any other
  114.   Visual Basic 5.0 programs, you already have this file installed on
  115.   your machine.  For this reason, it is not included in the CDProW
  116.   installation package.  However, it is available for download from
  117.   our Web site.

  119. 3 - Installation Steps
  120.   
  121.      1.   If you do not already have the Visual Basic 5.0 runtime file
  122.           MSVBVM50.DLL installed on your machine, you must install it
  123.           first before you attempt to install CDProW.  If you do not
  124.           have it, this file is available for download from our Web
  125.           site.  Simply unzip the MSVBVM50.ZIP file and move the file
  126.           MSVBVM50.DLL into your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.  Without
  127.           this file present on your system, the CDProW SETUP program
  128.           will not execute.

  130.      2.   Create a temporary directory that will store the extracted
  131.           CDProW Zip file.  This directory and its contents may be
  132.           deleted after you have successfully installed CDProW.
  133.      
  134.      3.   Unzip the distribution file into the temporary directory.
  135.           You have obviously already done this otherwise you would not
  136.           be reading this.
  137.      
  138.      4.   Using Explorer, double click on the SETUP.EXE program in the
  139.           temporary directory to start the installation.  Optionally,
  140.           you can use the Control Panel Add-Remove Programs to install
  141.           CDProW.  Just point it to the SETUP.EXE program in the
  142.           temporary directory.  In either case, follow the prompts to
  143.           install CDProW on your computer.  The default location for
  144.           the CDProW program is in "\program files\CDProW".
  145.      
  146.      5.   That's all - the installation is complete.  To run CDProW,
  147.           simply use your Start Menu, select Programs, then CDProW!
  148.           If you need to uninstall CDProW, you can do so from the
  149.           Control Panel Add-Remove Programs section.

  151. 4 - Files and their locations
  152.   
  153.   The following list includes all application files provided with
  154.   CDProW.  All of these files are installed into the location that
  155.   you specify during the installation.

  176.   execute.  They are all installed into the \Windows or
  177.   \Windows\System directory.  If you already have a version of one of
  178.   these files, the installation program will check to see if you have
  179.   the latest version.  If you do, nothing will be done to your
  180.   existing file.  If your version is older than the one distributed
  181.   with CDProW, then the new version will be installed over your
  182.   version.

  198. 5 - Release Highlights
  199.      
  200. All of the enhancements to CDProW were a direct result of your
  201. suggestions so keep those suggestions coming!
  202.  
  203. Release 2.1 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  204.   
  205. 1.   Added CD Player access.  This allows you to retrieve total CD time,
  206.      number of tracks, and individual track times automatically from the CD.
  207.      There is no longer any need to manually type in this information.
  208. 2.   Corrected a problem with the custom report definition and import
  209.      definition.  The problem arose when you tried to open an existing
  210.      definition but selected Cancel without selecting a file.  This caused the
  211.      program to crash.

  213. Release 2.0 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  214.   
  215. 1.   Ported the application from 16-bit Windows to full 32-bit Win32
  216.      (Windows 95 or Windows NT).
  217. 2.   Added a printer setup dialog that allows you to specify which printer
  218. to use.
  219.   
  220. Release 1.7 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  221.   
  222. 1.   Corrected subscript out of range error when the number of tracks field
  223.      receives focus.  Error only occurred when starting with an empty file.
  224.      Workaround was to start with one of the demo files and delete all entries.
  225. 2.   Corrected several problems with fields not being correctly painted.
  226.  
  227. Release 1.6 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  228.  
  229. 1.   Added a new sort sequence:  label and catalog number.
  230. 2.   Searches may now be performed using any combination of text, medium
  231.      and category search.
  232.  
  233. Release 1.5 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  234.  
  235. 1.   Corrected a bug:  If you open a second file without exiting, the
  236.      artist list will merge with the first file.
  237. 2.   Eliminated the search menu and moved it under the Edit menu.
  238. 3.   Overall use of cleaner fonts and design.  Bold and 3D attributes were
  239.      minimized in order to present an overall better appearance.
  240. 4.   The main list window has been redesigned.
  241. 5.   Increased the Title field from 40 to 80 bytes.
  242. 6.   Increased the Artist field from 40 to 80 bytes.
  243. 7.   Increased the Description from 40 to 80 bytes.
  244. 8.   Increase the Track titles to 80 bytes.
  245. 9.   Provided new search fields:  label; catalog number; release year;
  246.      track description.
  247. 10.  Modified the design of the search screen to be more user friendly.
  248. 11.  Added new drop down lists for label field.
  249. 12.  Now allows the entry of individual times and descriptions for each
  250.      track.  Track times are entered in minutes and seconds.
  251. 13.  Allows entry of total recording time in minutes and seconds.
  252. 14.  A new option is provided to automatically update the total time based
  253.      on the individual track times.
  254. 15.  Added a new custom print field "Track Titles/Times" that prints both
  255.      the track title and time.
  256. 16.  Enhanced import/export to handle new total time format of min/sec.
  257.      Also added the ability to import and export track times along with track
  258.      titles.
  259. 17.  Added a tape calculator function that allows the selection of
  260.      individual tracks from multiple CDs.
  261. 18.  Added new standard tape calculator report.
  262. 19.  Added the ability to copy the tape calculator report to the Windows
  263.      clipboard.  This allows you to paste this into any format that you want
  264.      using the standard Windows paste function.
  265. 20.  General clean up of the online help.

  267. Release 1.4.1 highlights:
  268.      
  269. 1.   Corrected a screen redrawing problem with the entry and additional
  270.      entry screens.

  272. Release 1.4.0 highlights:
  273.      
  274. 1.   Corrected a problem with the number of tracks being zeroed out when
  275.      you add a new record.  This forced reentry of this number before you could
  276.      enter track titles.
  277. 2.   Made the default category list optional.  By turning off default
  278. categories, the category list will be built from the list of categories
  279. that are actually in use within your file.
  280. 3.   Added a new search type (Text / Begin) which will only match the start
  281. of a field.  Useful if you want to only print a section of your file.
  282. 4.   Added 3 new sort sequences.  1) Artist / Release Year, 2) Category /
  283. Title, 3) Category / Artist.  These are in addition to 4) Title and 5)
  284. Artist / Title that were already supported.
  285. 5.   The registration number is now shown in the about box.
  286. 6.   The program now starts quicker if you have registered - the initial
  287.      delay in the about box is shorter.
  288. 7.   The size of track titles has been increased from 40 to 60 positions.
  289. 8.   Added an option to automatically open the last file loaded when you
  290. start the program.
  291. 9.   Removed the "Are you sure?" confirmation from the program exit.

  293. Release 1.3.0 highlights:

  295. 1.   Added Import and Export capabilities
  296. 2.   Added right mouse support for popup menus
  297. 3.   Changed Release Date to Release Year.  This field now only accepts a
  298.      year value.
  299. 4.   Added the ability to print track titles on custom reports
  300. 5.   Added Open/Save buttons on the report designer window
  301. 6.   Moved the Number of Discs, Number of Tracks and Total Time fields to
  302.      the main Recording Entry window.  Moved the misc key fields to the
  303.      Additional Info window.
  304. 7.   Added a View Previous button to the Recording Entry window.
  305. 8.   Corrected problems with international date formats
  306. 9.   Improved overall display performance
  307. 10.  Create help file using 3.1 help compiler.  Version 3.1 of help is now
  308.      required to view online help.
