  80. Thank you for trying Shutdown Monitor!  Shutdown Monitor is a
  81. powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use add-on for Windows 95/NT 4.0.
  82. It allows you to selectively automate running programs, batch files,
  83. command lines, etc. when Windows 95/NT 4.0 is shutting down.

  85. FEATURES

  87. Shutdown Monitor will create a 'Shutdown' directory on your start
  88. menu.  When Windows 95 shuts down you can:
  89. *   Select Shutdown Monitor to automatically run any programs
  90.     (shortcuts) located in the shutdown directory.
  91. *   Have Shutdown Monitor query you at shut down and select which
  92.     programs you would like to run
  93. *   Select not to run any programs
  94. *   Cancel Windows shutdown
  95.  
  96. STORED COMMANDS
  97. *   You can also selectively execute stored commands and command lines
  98.     at shut down.  Anything that you can Run from the Start>Run menu,
  99.     you can execute from Shutdown Monitor, including DOS commands.

  101. Shutdown Monitor is "User Profile" aware.  Each user will have their
  102. own Shutdown directory and commands list to execute.

  104. You can also use the built-in Windows Shutdown program to automate and
  105. execute time-consuming shutdown procedures.

  108.    "I'm a programmer.  I wanted a way to automate backing up my essential
  109. files and libraries.  I had a terrible habit of forgetting to back up my
  110. files until after I had already shut my system down.  I tried using the
  111. Startup folder, but that meant 1) I did my automatic backup BEFORE I made
  112. any changes and 2) My backup ran every time I rebooted (which was pretty
  113. often).  I knew that there were other utilities around that automatically
  114. ran programs at shut down, but I didn't want to run these programs and
  115. batch files every time I rebooted.  So Shutdown Monitor was born.  I'm
  116. happy with the way it turned out.  It really is a headache saver."

  136. Install this program by running the self-extracting archive,
  137. Shutmn13.exe (e.g. double click on its icon). You will be prompted
  138. for the target folder, where Shutdown Monitor files will be installed.
  139. A Shutdown Monitor group (menu) will be created in your Windows
  140. Start menu.
