  13. Thank you for trying Shutdown Monitor!  Shutdown Monitor is a 
  14. powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use add-on for Windows 95/NT 4.0.
  15. It allows you to selectively automate running programs, batch files, 
  16. command lines, etc. when Windows 95/NT 4.0 is shutting down.

  18. FEATURES

  20. Shutdown Monitor can create a 'Shutdown' directory on your start 
  21. menu.  When Windows 95 shuts down you can:
  22.  
  23. *   Select Shutdown Monitor to automatically run any programs 
  24.     (shortcuts) located in the shutdown directory.

  26. *   Have Shutdown Monitor query you at shut down and select which 
  27.     programs you would like to run
  28.  
  29. *   Select not to run any programs

  31. *   Cancel Windows shutdown

  33. *   Shutdown Windows at a certain time

  35. *   Log all program actions and/or errors to a log file

  46. STORED COMMANDS
  47.  
  48. *   You can selectively execute stored commands and command lines 
  49.     at shut down.  Anything that you can Run from the Start>Run menu, 
  50.     you can execute from Shutdown Monitor, including DOS commands.

  52. *   Show a user defined message before or after a command runs 
  53.     and assign a user defined action to be taken, depending on the 
  54.     selection that you make.

  56. *   Set the maximum number of times to run a command in a single day.

  58. *   Select to run a command daily, once a week, once a month, or once 
  59.     a year.

  61. *   Select a run mode for the command (Minimized, Maximized, Normal).

  64.     automatically ended.

  66. Shutdown Monitor is "User Profile" aware.  Each user can have their 
  67. own Shutdown directory and commands list to execute.

  71.    "I'm a programmer.  I wanted a way to automate backing up my essential
  72. files and libraries.  I had a terrible habit of forgetting to back up my
  73. files until after I had already shut my system down.  I tried using the 
  74. Startup folder, but that meant 1) I did my automatic backup BEFORE I made
  75. any changes and 2) My backup ran every time I rebooted (which was pretty
  76. often).  I knew that there were other utilities around that automatically
  77. ran programs at shut down, but I didn't want to run these programs and
  78. batch files every time I rebooted.  So Shutdown Monitor was born.  I'm
  79. happy with the way it turned out.  It really is a headache saver."

  100. Install this program by running the self-extracting archive,
  101. Shutmn20.exe (e.g. double click on its icon). You will be prompted
  102. for the target folder, where Shutdown Monitor files will be installed.
  103. A Shutdown Monitor group (menu) will be created in your Windows
  104. Start menu.

  109. prompts.

  225. Version 1.1.0 - Added the ability to automatically cancel the Windows
  226.     shutdown.  Useful if the programs/commands you were executing
  227.     took too long and Windows shutdown was timing out.  If 
  228.     AutoCancel Windows Shutdown was selected, then Shutdown Monitor
  229.     will present the user with it's own Windows Shut Down
  230.     selection window.

  234. Version 1.2.0 - Fixed a bug that prevented certain types of shortcuts
