  1.   Great, another readme file! Well, not really...

  3.   I am writing this file to tell you, the user, how I am dissappointed with
  4. my time constraints. I wanted to bring you so much more. Here's a list of
  5. things that will be added over time, as time becomes available. I have full
  6. intentions of complying with this list as time permits in future versions.
  7. Most of these things are either planned out, or have been begun but not
  8. finished yet. These are features I had meant to build into FAR 1.00 before it
  9. was released to the public, but I decided it was in the best interest of
  10. everyone to provide a WORKABLE version NOW rather an a blow-away version
  11. 2-3 months later.
  12.  
  13. * A full graphical sample editor for both 8/16 bit
  14. * A sampling option for GUS 8-bit (no GUSMAX or GUSDB info yet, sorry)
  15. * Reading sample data straight off of CD (still need a little more info)
  16. * A full custom wave instrument designer. This will be usable to design both
  17.   chip instruments, and full string pads, depending on the complexity of the
  18.   waves created.
  19. * A full FM instrument generator. This can be used to generate AdLib style
  20.   instruments.
  21. * A new, improved, F3R format. This format will support many things, including
  22.   saving instruments as their components from the WaveDesign and FMDesign
  23.   mentioned above. This will allow making incredible chip and string songs
  24.   SMALL. A draft proposal for this format has been included.
  25. * Better support for MIDI (more usable, MPU-401, etc)
  26. * Mixer controls
  27. * Ability to assign notes to samples, for a drum pad effect (useful on midi)
  28. * A version ported to Linux (!!)
  29.  
  30.  and last but defintely not least..

  32. * Modular support for other soundcards like SB, SBPro, etc.

  34.   I truely hope, as a programmer, and as a part time musician that i can find
  35. the time to finish these projects. I hope that you will find it worth your
  36. time to stay with me while we attempt to create the most awesome tracker
  37. ever.
