ZipWhacker -- The smallest, easiest, realfast Windows unzipping

Installation:
-------------
1) After self-extraction, copy ZIPWHACK.EXE, ZIPWHACK.HLP and ZIPWHACK.CNT to your
folder (directory ) of choice. Use Explorer to "drag-and-drop"* to your Windows 95
folder or create a new Folder (Use Right mouse button, "New, Folder")
2) From Explorer, "drag-and-drop"* ZipWhacker.exe onto the Start button.
3) ZipWhacker is now installed. See the Q&A's below for more info.
* To "drag-and-drop", click the item with the left mouse button, and while holding
the button down, move the mouse cursor to the target, then release the button.

Q. Why such an affordable price?
-----------------------------
A. Parts of the program were developed for another QSystems program -- "Disk Librarian"
(BTW --Disk Librarian catalogs/manages/unzips diskette and CD-ROM libraries),
so a price of $15.00 seemed fair. Come on down to the QSystems lot -- We're having
the biggest used algorithm sale ever!! Good credit, bad credit, no credit at all --
doesn't matter -- this is Shareware -- try it out !!! Actually, anyone who didn't
steal their computer can afford this price, and if the folks that use it are honest
and register, it will be enough to encourage support and future upgrades.
Q. What do I do with the files I just extracted?
---------------------------------------------
A. Copy ZIPWHACK.EXE, ZIPWHACK.HLP and ZIPWHACK.CNT to your windows directory. Remove the rest. Experienced windows users can remove the Help file (perhaps after a review of the
"ZipWhacker Basics" topic and of course printing out the Registration Form).
Q. I am computationally challenged (a computer illiterate) and don't like the program.
How do I uninstall ZipWhacker?
------------------------------
A. ZipWhacker makes an entry into the Registration database when it is first executed,
so you should run ZipWhacker and choose "Help, Uninstall" from the menu.
Then delete the files mentioned above. By the way, I hope you get better.
Q: I like to set the size and position that a program's window will occupy. Can I
do this with ZipWhacker?
------------------------
A: Yes, ZW will "remember" the size and position so it can use the same values the
next time it is run.
Q: Is context-sensitive help available?
------------------------------------
A: Yes. In drop-down menus, dialog boxes and even the control menu, all you have
to do to access the Help system is press F1. "Help-mode" help is available to
mouse users by pressing <SHIFT+F1>. In this mode the cursor has a question mark
tacked on. Just point to what you want to learn about and left-click the mouse.
Q: I recently downloaded a .ZIP file that contained an EXE (program file) and some
other files. I selected "Zip, Run" from the Menu to run the program without
unzipping all the files first. A message came up saying "Run-Time Error".
What's wrong?
-------------
A: First: What the Run Command from the Zip Menu item actually does is to unzip
the program file to a temp location, and then run it. This is fine for self
contained programs that do not need any data files or other program files
(typically with a .DLL extension). Some programs however, need these types of files
and choke quite badly, usually with a nondescript error message, when you try to
Run them without unzipping all the files. (The error message in this case was
displayed not by ZipWhacker, but by the downloaded program). Whenever this happens,
choose "Unzip All", then check the "New Subdirectory" option when the
UnZip Dialog appears. If you don't like the downloaded program, simply use
File Manager to delete the new subdirectory.
