The version 1.17 of PC64 had a virus which couldn't be recognized from
McAfee 7'95. If an infected program is run, it will infect the first EXE
file in the current directory which is not infected yet.
The program Virus895.exe can detect the new virus. Run it from your A: drive
and specify the root directory of your hard disk on the command line, for
example:
A:\> virus895 c:\
After you have deleted the infected EXE files, you can install version 1.18
of PC64. By calling Virus895.exe again, you can see that your hard disk is
clean now.
In the next four weeks, you should call Virus895.exe from time to time. If
the virus still is on a floppy disk or a streamer tape, he may get back to
your hard disk from there.
