  1. SemPoint v2.22 for Windows

  3. Thank you for trying SemPoint!
  4.  
  5. SemPoint is a truly powerful and multifunctional OffLine Reader (OLR).
  6. It is useful to BBS Sysops and Points in FidoNet technology, because it 
  7. can handle message bases in Fido (*.MSG), Squish, JAM, Hudson and Ezy 
  8. formats.
  9. It is useful to BBS users also, because it can read (and write) mail packets
  10. in the popular QWK and BlueWave formats, storing them in a permanent
  11. message base on your hard disk (see online help for details).
  12. Plus, if you can download USENET Newsgroups as a plain text file from your
  13. Internet provider, then you'll be able to "import" Newsgroups' messages in a
  14. permanent message base and to read them easily with SemPoint.

  17. Minimum hardware and software requirementes to use SemPoint are:
  18.  
  19. - a 286-based PC or more
  20. - 2 megabytes of free hard disk space
  21. - VGA or S-VGA graphics card
  22. - mouse
  23. - MS-Windows 3.10 (or later) or IBM-OS/2 2.1 (or later) with installed 
  24. Win-OS/2 support

  28. INSTALLATION
  29. ============
  30. An automatic installation program (SETUP.EXE) is provided. To run it, please
  31. follow these steps:
  32.  
  33. 1) uncompress SEMP222.ZIP on a temporary directory on the hard disk
  34.    (e.g. C:\TMP)
  35. 2) from Windows' Program Manager select File | Run...
  36.    (Windows 95 users: select "Run..." from the Start button)
  37. 3) type C:\TMP\SETUP <ENTER>
  38.    (if C:\TMP is the temporary directory name)
  39. 4) after installing delete the temporary directory
  40.  
  41. To uninstall SemPoint please refer to the online help.
