  2. Cash2000 was quickly written by Brian Curnow, Jr.
  3.  
  4. This program will modify bytes to give you lots
  5. of money and to bump up the year.
  6.  
  7. The program does not give you the *maximum* amount of
  8. money.  There is a reason for this.  I found that if you
  9. have the maximum amount of money and you get $1 more, the
  10. amount of money you have will wrap around and you end up
  11. with negative 2 billion dollars.  Not good.
  12.  
  13. Make sure you backup your file before using this program.
  14. I haven't tested it a lot, so better safe than sorry.

  16. The program uses some patterns I found in the files to
  17. figure out which bytes to modify.  If there is a pattern
  18. which I never saw in my 23 files, then the program will
  19. not work for you.

  21. If you have >16 million dollars or <0 dollars, the program
  22. will complain even if it really does recognize your file.
  23. I did this as a precaution in case one of my patterns can
  24. produce multiple configurations.  I use the fact that people
  25. will rarely have >16 mil or <0 to help make sure.  If you
  26. want to disable this, add the -s switch after the file name.
  27. (This also means you can't modify a file twice, unless you
  28. use the -s the second time.)

  31. send it to me.  I might be interested in adding its info
  32. for you.

  43. Let me close by saying:  MAKE A BACKUP!  This program works
  44. great when it works, but when it doesn't, look out!  Your
  45. city could end up so many bits in a simulated bucket.
